Ganassi will be ‘highly pissed off’ if a Waltrip car wins Daytona 500

Chip Ganassi, a team owner still looking for his first Daytona 500 win, says he would be upset if a Michael Waltrip Racing car wins the biggest race of the season Sunday at Daytona International Speedway.
Ganassi wouldn’t say whether he thought Waltrip should have been thrown out for an illegal fuel additive - Waltrip was docked 100 points, had two team members suspended and was fined $100,000 - but Ganassi did say how he would feel on Sunday.
“If any one of Michael Waltrip’s cars win the Daytona 500, I’m going to be highly pissed off because I think there are guys that show up here and are working hard to be within the rules,” Ganassi said. “There’s a difference between blatant cheating and somebody being a millimeter off.
“A millimeter off, I don’t call blatant cheating. Some of those things that are alleged to be going on there, I think are blatant and so there are guys that went home that were honest about things and didn’t get a second shot.”

not a big fan of Chip but I gotta agree with him on this one…Waltrip’s team was caught cheating and should not have the opportunity to win the 500
Ganassi is a big fat whiner like he’s always been! Go back to indycar you schmuck!
Cheating is a part of nascar always was and always will be. It’s just who can get away with the most!
I agree with Chip, too many good drivers went home that passed inspection without any problems. When they found a substance in Mikeys manifold the second time around, I think he should have been sent home.
Yes, lets say that cheating is ok because it has always been.
that is such a dumb comment! That is like saying “well, murders
are part of life, so that is just the way it is and will always be.”
The only way to make things better is to make changes. Yes, cheating
happens all the time, but that doesn’t mean it should be accepted.
It is teams like this that make NASCAR have to choose to make the
cars more like IROC cars because people push the limits too far.
Heater darling….you sound like a typical ‘educated’ Neckcar fan.
hey Heather….Ganassi is STILL in Indy car racing.
enjoy your chewing tobacco!
Ok if Waltrip wins…. IF! NASCAR should take his car apart and look at every nut and bolt! And yes Heather, Ganassi should stick to indy cars!
i will be HIGHLY PISSED OFF if one of His (Chip’s) cars win the daytona 500.
mikie,is owner and driver no way he didn`t know. and when he qualified 2mph+ over parctice DUH! BIG RED FIRE TRUCK. he should not be in the show.
lol Chip you are the freaking man! Go Ganassi Racing.
chip as in cow chip hes a rich owner who has won in every other form of motorsports but the cup now has a reason to be pissed off . not that cars or teams not winning or at least making a good showing was reason to be pissed off .no its waltrip get off your high horse chip do some r and d and win some races them your thoughts might count for some thing
i dont know what to think anymore.on perpose or by accident, who do you believe.but i will say that some crew chiefs and drivers can get by with it more then others.jimmie johnsons crew chief is well known for this.i think he and johnson cheats every week and has figured out how not to get caught.yes,he may not have had a right to race in the daytona 500,but nascar has been known to give some strange rulings when it comes to who is out and who is in.i give them credit for having the nerve just to get out there and intertain us every week.but we would be stupid to believe the same cars are always out front every week if all the cars were built equal.thanks scooterpie
