Frank KimmelAfter winning their ninth ARCA RE/MAX Series championship, Frank Kimmel and Tri-State Motorsports have parted ways.

Kimmel, along with his brother and long-time crew chief Bill Kimmel, will compete in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series under the Kimmel Racing banner as co-owners of the new race team. A car number and primary sponsor for the new team have not been determined.

Car owner/Tri State Motorsports team owner Larry Clement is yet to announce his plans for the 2008 racing season.

“This was a challenging decision to make,” said Kimmel. “Larry Clement and I have enjoyed a lot of success in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and he has given me a lot of great opportunities to achieve success. We are excited about this new endeavor of Kimmel Racing for 2008 and beyond — we wish Larry and Tri-State Motorsports the best as they also move forward.”

After spending more than a decade together, Kimmel and Tri-State Motorsports have earned a record nine ARCA RE/MAX Series championships, including the 2007 championship. Kimmel has also earned 71 wins, 209 top-five finishes and 259 top-10 finishes during his ARCA career spanning back to the 1990 season.

Kimmel and Clement will celebrate their final ARCA RE/MAX Series championship together on December 8 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky.

Who cares? He couldn’t make it in Cup, Busch or the truck series. He’s a ARCA lifer because his talent level isn’t high. He beats on young kids and has beens. So who’s he beating? He’s like a bully in the school yard. There are only so many kids to beat upon. Then they move on and you stay proclaiming to be the toughest guy around. Hollow championships. The sad thing is that he IS a nice guy. Grow some balls and move on Frank. Go to a series where you can’t out dollar the others and see what a flop you’ll be. Wait. You already did that. That’s why you’re stuck in ARCA. Come on, Frank. A one armed man is a 3 time ARCA champ (Old Man Dotter and his kid hasn’t done squat either.) But Dotter was cool.

He is in the top level of racing. He is in the Automobile Racing Club of America’s Highest level. NASCAR and ARCA are seperate things. I dont see why everybody is so bent on NASCAR being the ultimate goal. Maybe he enjoys racing short tracks. Heck I’d rather race on short tracks and dirt tracks then all these Mile & halfs.

A Cup car is pretty much a Gran Touring Car
The 2009 Nationwide series cars will be a Pony car
ARCA Remax series will still for the time being be a “latemodel” type car.

Frank is no diffrent then John Force, or Sammy Swindell, or Steve Kinser ,Or many other drivers throughout the world, and I dont see people telling them guys to go race in another series.

It is not Franks job to make sure the other drivers have top notch EQ.

Heck its harder to race against people in “crappy” EQ then it is to race against people in top notch EQ, but you have to avoid the slow guys in the lower budget EQ.
