Actress Ashley Judd wasn’t by her husband’s side Wednesday, but she played a part in Dario Franchitti’s decision to move from the Indy Racing League to NASCAR.
Franchitti announced Wednesday that he will drive the No. 40 Sprint Cup car for Chip Ganassi Racing next season.
And with Franchitti comes the famous actress.
“She was very much included in the decision,” Franchitti said. “We talked about it quite a lot. She’s excited about it - she’s real excited about it.
“She’s been a great supporter throughout my open-wheel career. She’s ready to go.”

She is super annoying in the IRL, but no one is really watching! Next year she is going to be even more annoying
because people are going to put more mics in front of her, especially when her Hubby is struggling!
What’s wrong with someone supporting her husband?
This will tie Hollywood in with Nascar a little more and could help the ratings some!
Oh lord.
That’s all I have to say.
DUDE….
WHO CARES!!?!??
TOO MANY CHANGES . VERY CONFUSING
WHO IS WHERE AND IN WHAT CAR NEXT YEAR
Ashley, Tony, Junior and fried chicken. There is a god!!
I see nothing wrong with a wife supporting her husband. Also, I think she might help bring up the ratings for NASCAR. Deffiantly see this as a good thing.
I agree that this could be a really good thing. It may bring more
people to the sport who would not have been exposed to it before.
