Brian FranceNASCAR chairman Brian France fully expects International Speedway Corp. to have a new track in Seattle, Denver or New York City in the not-so-distant future.

“I don’t expect all three to get a facility built,” France said before Sunday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “But I do expect something positive to happen. I also expect lots of deterrents that happen when you try to build community support.”

France said Denver appears to have momentum. He was not concerned about recent insults by Washington state politicians who are fighting a move to the Seattle area.

“They have to work their way through and build that community support,” France said of ISC and local politicians. “I don’t expect them to do that easily. I also don’t expect them to do it in every market that could host a NASCAR event.

“Do I expect them to have success in one or more markets over the long term? Yeah, my expectation is that they will.”

Open your eyes Brian. You seem to be the only one that wants tracks in these places. The citizens and politicians seem against it. Look at how much trouble it was to get a track in Los Angeles and they only draw 5000 more fans than Rockingham used to. The only reason Vegas is so great is because people travel from all over the country to go there , cause its Vegas. I bet 90 % of the fans that would go to a race in New York would be from other states like Ohio , Pennsylvania and Virginia , so if New York city people arent going to show up…why build the track there? If youre just trying to impress New York businesses , then you’ll end up with empty stands there also, when the new wears off. Just like L.A. Give Kentucky a race and maybe give Rockingham a race back. Like they say , if it aint broke dont fix it.

I am from Denver, and the place they want to build the track is about 10 minutes from my house. I would be thrilled to get a tracks here, and I know lots of others that would too. There are some that are opposed to the new track, but I don’t think they will build on that site. They will most likely build on another site a little further away from this place. They have support, but right now there is not even a proposal, so we’ll see.

Well after what the poeple in Washington said about you NASCAR fans I think that NASCAR should rule that state out. After all they dont want people like us up there.

I say lets put the track in the Devner area or in NYC.

I was born in Denver and live in NYC I want both to get built!

If I could take a subway to NASCAR race that would be great!

Where they want to build it in Denver is perfect,
they already ripped the local track I grew up racing on right by there. Replace it with something more fun!
