Nextel CupToronto’s Ron Fellows finished second Sunday driving the #16 Cadillac CTS-V in the SCCA Speed GT Challenge series at the Grand Prix of Toronto. For the next six weeks Fellows will be on a tour preparing for and racing in the NASCAR Nextel Cup and NASCAR Busch Series.

Fellows will race the #33 Kevin Harvick Incorporated Chevy first at the NBS NAPA Auto Parts 200 Aug. 3-4 at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and again at Watkins Glen International a week later. Fellows will do double duty at the Glen where he will drive the #96 DLP Hall of Fame Chevrolet in the Cup race Aug. 12. Before embarking on that journey he will be doing some testing with both Harvick and DLP — probably at Virginia International Raceway — in preparation for his NASCAR venture. “After (yesterday) it’s all NASCAR,” Fellows said.

“I am really looking forward to the Montreal race. I think those (NBS) cars are going to be a hoot to drive at that track.” He has won on the Formula One Montreal track before in a Camaro in the old GM Racing Series. Fellows also has three Busch race wins and a pair of Craftsman Truck Series wins on his resume.

Ah sweet deal man, when we met him last year at Watkins he seemed
really nice. Hell, even his fans are always nice people.

Yeah, and I like that he gets pissed out there on the track. He’s not just cruising for publicity or money.
