Fans to decide one driver’s entry into The Sprint All-Star Race

Sprint announced the return of the Sprint Fan Vote, a voting competition powered by fans to award one team a starting spot in the May 17 Sprint All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Voting began April 17 and closes at 7 p.m. EDT May 17. Race fans may vote multiple times. New this year, as a bonus to Sprint customers, votes placed on Sprint phones will count twice.
Voting is available through the following channels:
*On Sprint phones text “NASCAR” to 7777 and follow the received directions (standard text messaging and data rates apply)
*At participating Sprint stores
*Trackside at the Sprint Experience
Past Fan Vote winners include Ken Schrader (2004), Martin Truex Jr. (2005), Kyle Petty (2006) and Kenny Wallace (2007).
To be eligible for the Sprint Fan Vote, drivers must have been in the top 50 in Sprint Cup Series driver point standings in 2007 or have attempted to qualify for a 2008 Sprint Cup Series race prior to March 10. The driver with the most votes who finishes the Sprint Showdown on the lead lap will transfer to the prestigious field. The Sprint Fan Vote winner will be announced following the completion of the Sprint Showdown. Tune in to SPEED May 17 at 7 p.m. EDT to see who will win the 2008 Sprint Fan Vote.

So you can only vote if you go to a Sprint Store, or you have one of their “Amazing” (sarcasm) phones, or if you can attend a race before the allstar race…..? Yeah thats what about 5% of the Fans… how can they call that a Fan vote….
Yeah, that’s really a messed up system.
And you know they’re going to attack you to
look at their phones if you step one foot in
their store.
Unbelievable.
They should’ve left the voting alone. I just don’t want to see a wasted pick. I want to see a guy really go for it instead of being voted in because he’s funny or a third generation driver. I rest my case.
Just one more way to mess with the fans. And they say they want to get the “Old Time Fans” back ??? Yeah right !!!
Just when you think you are FED UP enough to go watch Lawn Bowling they come up with yet another “Brainstorm” to mess with the fans that are barely hanging on to don’t they read the Internet??? Obviously not or they would have a clue. Nationwide Series in Mexico is another great example, keep it up BRIAN FRANCE and you’ll be broke !!!
Ok, REALLY!!! I live in Alaska, We don’t have Sprint up here, so…NOW WHAT? Ya, thiss is a really fair way to have”FANS” vote. Thanks alot!!!
Why dont the idots let vote via e-mail otherwise they constrict the number of fans that get to vote .
They really want a big voting audience doing the way they are doing it. Almost none I was being fecious. They need to make it easier to vote.
I’d like to see the number of votes this year compared
to last/prior years.
