NASCAR fans looking to hit the golf course with a number of the top personalities in motorsports now have their chance. A limited number of public spots are now available in the #18 Drives For Kids J.J. Yeley Charity Golf Classic benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital, scheduled for March 8 at Kierland Golf Club in Phoenix.

Entries are $500 each, and foursomes can sign up to play at $2000 per group. Each foursome will be paired with a NASCAR driver, a NASCAR industry personality, or a prominent local celebrity. Currently scheduled to appear in addition to Phoenix native Yeley are NASCAR rookie Juan Pablo Montoya, Kyle Petty, Stephen Leicht, and Mike Wallace. Former Phoenix Sun Dan Majerle will take his game from the hardwood to the links as well, joining Yeley and NASCAR’s finest for the day to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital. 2006 Raybestos Rookie of the Year Denny Hamlin is tentatively scheduled to participate, with more entries to come.

The focus of #18 Drives For Kids is multi-dimensional. While a fun event meant to bring the many personalities of NASCAR together for a day of off-track recreation, #18 Drives For Kids is primarily set on raising money and awareness for the numbers of youth from the Valley area and beyond at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

NASCAR action heats up when the lights come on for the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 Weekend at PIR, April 19-21, 2007. The party kicks off under the lights for Thursday’s Phoenix 150 NASCAR AutoZone West Series race.

Friday night’s fiesta is the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 NASCAR Busch Series race. Then, the action reaches its pinnacle when the cars and stars of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series take the track for the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500, the first night race of the 2007 NEXTEL Cup Season.
