Eury Jr. could follow Dale Jr out of DEI

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s crew chief Tony Eury Jr. has an option in his contract that says if Earnhardt leaves he can leave too.
“My contract, when I signed up with DEI, I made it real clear that if Dale Jr wasn’t my driver, I wanted to have an open contract to whether, you know…not saying that if Dale Jr. leaves, I’m outta here, you know? I just wanted to have it open where I could weigh my options, you know?
The worst thing you can do is be standing there with a driver like Dale Earnhardt Jr…everybody knows he’s one of the best…then they come and they stick somebody in that’s just gonna be a ride-around. You know, you don’t want to be stuck in one of those situations. So I tried to make it real clear that that’s what I didn’t want to do. And you know, my heart….I want to be with Dale Jr, but I also want to take care of the guys that have took care of me so long.”

family means ALOT.i would like to see tont jr and martin truex go with jr so there careers can stay on the fast track …
I pray that Tony Eury jr goes with dale jr.,but that’s up to him.I know dale jr. want’s him right there for him,just have to wait and see.
I have no doubt that Tony Jr. will do what he thinks is right. Junior says whatever career decision he makes in the coming months he wants it to be once. I can’t see why Junior or Tony Jr. wouldn’t want to partner in that effort. Plus, there’s not a driver and crew chief combo who are more fun to listen to on the in-car radio.
if tony jr is going to gain then he has to do what is
in his best interest too. these last seasons at DEI with
inadequate equipment and mechanical backing has made him
look bad—otherwise he and dale jr would’ve had that’
championship already.
I wouldn’t blame him to leave DEI, if I were in the
same boat I’d row off too…I can’t do my best
work without proper tools and equipment!
