Elliott Considers Extending Limited Schedule in ‘07
Quote selected text Published May 19th, 2006 in NASCAR NewsThree years after his full-time Nextel Cup career ended, Blairsville’s Bill Elliott is still much in demand as a driver.
Elliott, now running a partial Cup schedule, said Thursday that he’s weighing several offers for next season. He has been mentioned as a possible part-time replacement for Dale Jarrett in Robert Yates’ No. 88 Ford, with younger drivers running the balance of the schedule. Elliott also is among the candidates to drive a Toyota Camry in Cup next year.
“There are several good options out there,” Elliott said. “Within a month I should have an idea what I’m going to do.”
