Edwards wins fuel mileage game at Pocono

Carl Edwards and his Roush Fenway Racing crew chief Bob Osborne say they routinely argue, and that showed through at Pocono Raceway after a controversial pit call that ultimately translated into Edwards’ fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup victory of the season.
“I had to leave the pit box because I was worried Bob was going to punch me in the neck or something,” said Edwards, who moved up two spots to third in the standings.
“We argue,” Osborne said. “We get mad at each other. We walk away and then we walk back together. … We come to terms with what we want to do, and 99% of the time it works out for us.”

That was a boring race… I left when they rain came and by the time I got out of the parking lot the red flag was over… l0l And I still made it home in time to watch the last 35-40 laps…….
Gotta love being a local….. l0l
i stayed til after carl left, got to meet carl and jack after the race in the pits, even for only a minute it was pretty cool. Plus i got my jr tire (thanks for the heads up fisha)all in all, it was a 16 hour day for me, and one of the best days ive had in a while, yeah the race wasnt great, but it wasnt bad either, better than the june race last year at least
I probaly would have stayed longer, but me and the 3 people I was with were still feeling the effects of a party the night before…. l0l
I didn’t even go into the souvenir section…..I stayed away from the madness…. l0l But I did get a few free Amp drinks when I left.

Shame on you fisha, from what I’ve been reading you’re not a Jr fan, why take the Amp’s? LOL
Who were your Drivers?
HOW ABOUT TONY’S FINISH!! WOOOO!!
Jason wrote:
because the girls that were giving them out were good looking and all wet from the rain shower….. l0l
Actually I’m not an Amp fan either, I’m a Rockstar drinker all the way, but I was thirsty so I took some of them.

ok wtf….i did not post on this yet…why is someone using my name? is this site screwed up or something…..
anyways..that race was boring…BUT its pocono so what do u expect right….glad kyle busch had problems at the end and everyone gained a bunch of points on him…BUT with 5 races to go it really dont matter anyways

sometimes the last poster’s name will show up on someones machine rather than their name, its strange happens randomly
all that matters is he is falling, as long as he chokes in the chase thats all that matters. I really dont even care if Jr wins, i mean i hope he does but as long as shrub dont im happy

ROAD RACES SUCK !!!
RACING IS FOR SPEED, NOT GO FAST, SLOW DOWN ALL THE TIME…….
Actually stock car racing started because of “racing” on the road.
Actually road racing still sucks !!!
No excitement whatsoever…
Maybe if there were a cop car behind them it would be!
Jason wrote:
Racing isn’t about excitement it’s about talent, and road courses show which drivers truly have talent and which are in their position because of their name or their money.

No talent in road racing, there is talent however going 200 MPH around a track in the corners, side by side, against the wall almost, still at 200 MPH, that’s talent, I feel the need, the need for speed!!!
not sure what this jason chacter is talking about but im glad a road course is here especially watkins glenn, car control at its finest, its funny how he says go fast and then slow down, got news for you jason in some of these turns when they “slow down” they are still going faster then you probably have ever driven your street car, and not mention the throttle control needed to contain the horsepower coming out of a turn with no traction I LOVE SOME ROAD RACING
Rowdy it’s obvious that this Jason person has never driven a race car, and judging by some of his other comments in this topic he probaly isn’t even old enough to have a learners permit yet… l0l

Actually, you are driving faster in your street car than you are in the corners at the Glen. The Glen is a 2 1/2 mile coarse and it takes 71 seconds to get around it at 124 mph and that was set by Jeff Gordon in 2003. And that was the track record. Stock Cars were not designed for left and right hand turns. And the Glen is hard on the gas man because he has to fuel the car on the right side.
you know something else we didnt even mention is the pit crews are having to do the stops in an exact opposite direction, and i dont know bout you’ll but i know there are alot of things i would screw up if i had to do it the exact oppposite
It’s not really the exact oppisite, I mean it’s the same pretty much. You do the outside of the stall first and then the inside. Front is still front, rear is still rear, gasman is still close to the pitwall, the driver still goes on the second drop (if it’s a 4 tire stop)

I really kind of doubt it, you cannot go that fast at Watkins Glen, if they can go 90-100 MPH over railroad tracks that is connected with a curve like I have once they would indeed have a match with me, I was a crazy driver as a teen and I was lucky to have made that curve, didn’t know it was there, but I have done it and for the last time, cause that scared the sh*t out of me…
