Carl EdwardsCarl Edwards clearly isn’t conceding anything to Kyle Busch, and if this continues, the rivalry NASCAR fans seem to be clamoring for could be coming soon, too.

Edwards saw Busch lead 415 consecutive laps Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, then used his bumper to nudge Busch’s car aside with 30 laps to go, causing it to wiggle just enough so Edwards could drive by for his second consecutive victory in the Sprint Cup Series.

“It’s one of those deals where I couldn’t get by him, I couldn’t get by him, and I just had to ask myself, `Would he do that to me?’ Edwards said after doing his trademark backflip off the car in Victory Lane. “And he has before, so that’s the way it goes.”

And there’s no remorse in the offing, Edwards said.

“Let’s make it real clear - I’m not apologizing for it,” Edwards said, citing several instances where he felt like Busch took him out of races to gain positions. “We’re even.”

The triumph was the sixth of the season for the Roush Fenway Racing driver, allowing him to close the deficit of bonus points he’s likely to have to make up when the 12-race Chase for the championship begins. Busch has eight wins, and each is worth 10 Chase bonus points.

No other driver has won more than twice this season.

After taking the checkered flag, Edwards was making his cool-down lap around the track when Busch drove up and bumped his car. Edwards clearly wasn’t amused, and when he responded by driving the nose of his car into the right side of Busch’s, the fans cheered wildly.

“They keep talking about rivalries,” Edwards said. “We might have one now.”

Well I wasglad to see someone win other then Kyle. I agree that Kyle has had a great season but what he did after the race was not only dangerous but stupid. If kyle would hav . ehas the chance to put carl into the wall he would have done the same thing to him no matter what he says. Bristol Racing at its best I guess

Oh like Carl NEVER did a very very similar thing to a certain driver after a race……. (rolls eyes)

Face it people what Shrub did after the race was over was no different then what Carl did to Jr in the Busch race the other year, and no different then what many many drivers have done many many times.

SORE LOSERS, Both of them, Kyle and JD, They are both pathetic little boys. Joe should be embarrassed by them. First Kyle cant take a little bump and run which is nothing but racing, and then his after race attics and JD’s comments after the race about Carl. Carl is a classy driver and Kyle needs to take some “MAN” lessons from him.

  7. 7 Rustler

Nothing wrong with a bump and run im all for it, and KB could have easily returned the favor but he didnt so after the race (which wasnt right) he went to show his displeasure with carl. Its short track racing what do you expect these things happen its called racing. I love how everyone wants to point and laugh at kyle like he did something wrong. I can thing of a few other drivers that would love to have the finish kyle did as matter of fact i bet there are 41 other drivers who wishes they had kyles finish.

As for Carl ok he pulled the bump and run on KB no big deal. What I am tired of seeing him dump Boyer in the nationwide series then he gets out and puts that big ole smile and im so sorry yet hes done it 2 races in a row. He thinks its ok cause he puts on the big show of how sorry he is. Need we forget last year when kenseth got into carl and after the race carl went up to kenseth during an interview pushed him out the way and then jumped at him like he was going to hit him. Tell me that wasnt a sore looser, all drivers do it cause they want to win.

CARL GOOD MOVE ON THE BUMP AND RUN, KB ANOTHER STRONG RUN LED, IF CARLS GOING TO BEAT YOU ATLEAST MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE BY FINISHING RIGHT BEHIND HIM

Joe should be ashamed the way Kyle and JD acted after that race, If I was him I will tell them both to keep their big mouths shut if they don’t have anything good to say. He has never been more embarrassed than this year and it really makes JGR look bad. Tony even had more class then these two. Its ashame if every time Kyle does not win he has to act like a little boy that just got his toys taken from him.

  9. 9 Rustler

    ONE MORE THING

everyone is ragging on Kyle for being a sore looser, this was a good race and so much more to talk about and the only thing youll can focus on KB give me a break. It seems to me some fans are the sore loosers, other then carl nobody did better then kyle AGAIN, no wonder youll hate this kid.

  10. 10 Sushstewart20

How about that 2, 4, 8 finish for JGR? LOL [changing the subject]

  11. 11 KK

The bump and run was great, the stuff after didn’t bother me, except for Kyle’s comments. He has a holier than thou attitude because he is leading the points. Hey Kyle it’s called racing, they aren’t goint to just pull over and let you win. Grow up and be as good of a sport as you are a driver.

  12. 12 Carol

I’m not a fan of either one, however, for Kyle to complain about anyone else wrecking people to win is about as funny as it gets. Kyle is the one that said he would wreck anyone he had to for the win. What goes around comes around. JD just showed what a jerk he is and they had both better get use to it. I have a feeling that once the chase starts, more than one driver that little Kyle has upset will be spinning him. Way to go Carl.

that bristol start was the worst ive ever seen…im a dale jr fan and i dont understand how dumb u can be to pas 8 cars b4 the race even starts so he deserved the finish he got…..but the ending of the race was amazing….3 way battle for the lead, kyle getting knocked out of the way…it was awesome bristol race ive seen in a while espcially on the new pavement….but if kyle took it like a man and didnt cry about it…this wouldnt be a big deal….it was TOTALLY ok for him to wreck JR at Richmond (cause it was just good hard racing right)….but once it happens to him…oh no this is BS…BOO FRIGGIN HOOO….reminds me alot of Jeff Gordon in his younger days….but besides the point…Kyle got owned and he knows it…something tells me this little fued between him and edwards is gonna escalate and some innocent cars are gonna get destroyed b/c of it….Kyle is gonna wreck him back ill garuntee u that…but he will wait til the CHASE starts….its gonna be exciting either way tho lol

Take it from someone who is involved in short track racing weekly, Don’t look at what Kyle said as complaining but as the attitude ALL drivers have for about an hour or two after a short track race.

Plus it’s not like Carl is a saint either……

kyle was whinning…he does it to people and doesnt expect it to happen back to him….your little youtube videos aint gonna prove anything…i know carls not a saint…he damn near took dale jrs arm off at michigan in 06 i beleive it was….had kyle wrecked edwards…he would just say its good hard racing and you know it…carl didnt say that…he said he purposely hit him and why lie about it? atleast hes man enough to admit it…kyle blames it on “racing”…whatever

Dale jr didnt act like that when kyle took him out at richmond AND carl didnt even wreck busch….

  18. 18 Howie Motorsports Photography Registered User

well it Carl has 3 more wins this season we wont have to worry about Kyle making any record books. LOL

  19. 19 insidesillyseason.com

Fisha that Edwards vs Kenseth video is hilarious.
And Edwards got pile drived by Jr and the car he owns and was
upset…theres a difference between nudging someone and
flat out wrecking someone w/o giving them a change to save it..
Jr just rammed him and kept the throttle down until Carl had no chance
of saving it- i’d be mad too.
I couldn’t believe how JD was acting after the race- completley unprofessional

  20. 20 Howie Motorsports Photography Registered User

Lets face it Kyle is still just a little boy and has a lot of growing up to do. He better get use to other drivers wrecking him because he hasn’t seen the last of it. He is just a little cry baby and the quicker he learns how to handle it the quicker he will have the fans approval. its not Kyles driving that they hate, its his personality they hate and once he has figured that out and his fans figure it out like good old ROWDY the better off everyone will be but until then he’ll go on acting like a little boy who got his toys taken away.

  21. 21 Susie

It,s Bristol get over it you whiners. Kyle would have done the same thing, oh wait he did. Busch is a little ***hole someone needs to knock him down a couple of notches. Carl just did what Busch would have done to anyone else. Wah, Wha, Wha, scrub!

  22. 22 Mel

Kyle has dirty diapers, always, and his mouth needs changing too. He would cry if his candy hit the ground and a puppy got it and ran away.

He is what is Call a Spoiled Brat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. 23 Chris

From where I see it that’s racing and if Dales Earnhardt Sr were
alive he would have done the same. That is what makes racing exciting.
Kyle Bush is sickening he needs to grow up, there has been to many
conforontations this year that have been absolutely uncalled for by him.
If he was in Carl Edwards place tell me he wouldn’t have done the same.
Maybe they should send him to some kind of anger management school or
a school for spoiled brats. If he is old enough to race in Nascar than maybe he should grow up and do it like a real man. I think he just wants
attention wether it is good or bad just like a little kid.
    Chris
