Edwards and Busch placed on probation by NASCAR

NASCAR announced that it has placed #18-Kyle Busch and #99-Carl Edwards on probation for the next six races in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of their on-track incident last Saturday at the conclusion of the race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Busch and Edwards both violated Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing; hitting another competitor’s car after the race had concluded) of the 2008 NASCAR rule book. The probation takes effect beginning with this weekend’s event at Auto Club Speedway.
- Gordon gets fine, probation and warning from NASCAR
- Busch and Stewart placed on probation by NASCAR
- Champ Car Hands Down Penalty on Paul Tracy
- National Stock Car Racing Commission rescinds probation for Stewart, Logano
- Montoya gets fined and placed on probation by NASCAR
Well, I quess that just about takes care of anymore antics after the race by sore losers
I wish there was a fine associated with it too, but I’m glad there was no points penalty for this. BTW, not to say I told you so, but they both got exactly the same limp-wristed non-penalty!
And dont forget… if you break the rules again… we will be forced… too…. write you a sternly worded letter telling you how we are unhappy with you!
Why did Carl get penalized? What did he do wrong? What he done was self defense! If I were Roush I would strongly appeal that decision out of principal.

This is again ridiculous. It is ridiculous as zero tolerance in schools–you retalliate when someone hits you–you get suspended and expelled too! Total bull….Carl didn’t start it in fact he was just trying to turn down to pit road and victory lane! I hope The Cat in the Hat goes ballistic on this as much as he’s done to Toyota. NASCAR you are ruining everything! What happened to drivers showing more emotion. What happened to the Bud Shootout is ridiculous too. France and the talking heads need to go.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit of Roush appeals. He’s such a crybaby that he would go in there and argue that when Kyle hit Carl, it knocked the toe so far out on the left side that the car unintentionally cut down on Kyle and hit him!

can someone please tell me exactly what probation is in this sport? i’ve never been able to figure out what it is? kinda like no no bad dog, no cookie then they give the cookie anyway as far as i’ve ever seen
will they actually ever really suspend a driver for doing something stupid and immature?

I have no idea wh its such a shocker there was no more then this, unless people were beleiving the crap HOWIE had guaranted. Lets think back to begining of the year NASCAR wants to the guys to be more themselves, heres and example of that, was it right maybe not, but either way it had no impact on the outcome of the race and it has made press for NASCAR. Number 2 didnt JPM run into someone (I forget who) after the checkered on the track, then when interviewed he said yeah I did and I would do it again, no fines penalities or probabtion. So depending on how you look at it, JPM was the one getting away being a jerk.
Plus Carl should be glad KB did, I heard it knocked his oil cover back on,, thats why there will be no dispute from ROUSH.
Rowdy its such a shocker because Howie said they would take points and they didn’t!!!!!!

Maybe this is NASCARs attempt to try and be serious about their back to basics campaign
In my opinion, NASCAR did the right thing by not penalizing them.
It wasn’t on pit road, so it wasn’t a safety hazard
and it was just the two of them.
Maybe NASCAR actually did something right?

I dont think either driver should have been put on probation,that stuff has been going on forever and nascar never did anything about it before,if it had happened on pit road thats different with crew members drivers etc.walking around could get ran over,but as far as tomcats comment nah do it the old way and confront the driver man to man but kyle would be smart not to do that considering im sure carl would snap busch in half.
Thats true but Kyle cant do that, he runs away like a little girl. When Ron Hornaday went after him he ran like alittle girl. he later said he was catching his flight but he was sitting in the coach. Carl would have layed him out.
The penalties just make those 2 guys a little less aggressive. The Chase is almost here and like they say at Jeffy’s, “it’s time to separate the men from the boys”.
Nah… I think Kyle would go toe to toe w/ Carl, but it would certainly be Gordon style w/ his helmet still on!!!

After some time,Maybe 25 years, I have seen nascar, Brian france, Mike helton, and that guy pemberton doing things different every week. In my opinion , Brian France should go back to California and do what he does best. Nothing, allow his sister to take over NASCAR.

As for the points only being 30, its more then that cause he has 8 wins which is 80 bonus points. Carl has 6which is 60 minus 10 for cheating so that gives him 50. which is 30 then you have to add in the sepearation from the chase spots. Which this will probaly change between now and then especially as good as roush cars are at cali. As for your comment with a face like that im sorry maybe its your own personal preference that you want a pretty race car driver, personally i dont care if he lloks like the guy from the goonies who wanted a baby ruth as long as he can drive a race car, which is what we are always discussing on here. If you want looks maybe you should watch americas next top model………..

He’s correct sometimes, im not arguing that , my thing is when speaks like he knows whats going and hes wrong, For EX. he guaranteed fines and penalties and probation till end of the season by 5 p.m. yesterday he was wrong and he got the probation half right with the 6 races instead of rest of the season
