Earnhardt, Jr’s car damaged after qualifying inspection

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s pole-winning car was involved in a minor collision with a track vehicle following post-qualifying inspection at Pocono Raceway Friday.
Crew chief Tony Eury Jr. said that Earnhardt Jr.’s crew was pushing the car off the scales and down a ramp when medical personnel stopped their Gator vehicle directly in front of the car. The vehicles collided, and Earnhardt’s car sustained front-end damage. “It hit pretty good,” crew chief Tony Eury Jr. said. “It smashed the nose back. It had a Gator tire print in it.”
The crew worked to repair the damage and is expected to complete the work once the garage opens in the morning. “It’s pretty much fixed,” Eury said. “I just gotta put these braces on underneath it in the morning.”

Hmm, knowing how Eury operates and the fact that they just passed tech would lead me to believe that this was a planned event to allow some post-tech “tweaking” of Earnhardt’s car…. Better check it again, NASCAR.
even if you think like I do that Jr. is overrated you can’t deny the bad luck he has had
recently, especially with part/engine failures and now this!
Someone needs to find out why that Gator truck just stopped right in front of his car as it was coming off that scale. That is just not right, as Bill Engval would say: “Here’s your sign.”
13th and 14th place in the points are both Penske cars, did that Gator have a Penske employee driving it?
That’s what is funky about the chase, say your in 13th place late in the season and your teammate is out of the chase or already locked in it. Have your teammate wreck the 12th place car so you gain in the points…..simple.

God, as soon as I read this article, I knew the conspiracy theorists would come out of the woodwork. It’s just some idiot with little to no common sense that stopped his gator in front of a 3000lb stock car! He wasn’t paid by Penske or sent there to Tony Jr to try and destroy the car…
billy: Every car goes through Tech inspection the morning before the race. sure would be nice if people had a little knowledge of the things they post about. BTW congrats to Mikey for getting all 3 of his cars in the same race for the first time sence I believe the Daytona 500, I woncer if he will get a penility for saying cr_p in his intervue after he qualifyed, I hope not.

This reminds me of the time me and a friend of mine were walking through the hauler area outside Homestead Miami Speedway. She nearly got run over by a Gator cart painted like Jamie Mac’s car. Thing is, she was wearing the colors of the 42 (Casey Mears at the time.) Conspiracy? Perhaps. The world may never know.

How dumb can people be. The chase is on like the super bowl . Shouldnt everyone be on high alert not to act like a fool. How do u bump a pole car duh/. I say fine em. Or fire em. If u cannot say oh shit on the camera u definately shouldnt get away with accidently bumping the car.
