Earnhardt, Jr vents his frustration at Burton, Busch
Quote selected text Published November 19th, 2007 in NASCAR News
The nine-year era of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 8 Budweiser team ended on a down note as he was twice hit from behind by other drivers early in the race. He got up to 11th before getting into an incident with the driver he’s replacing at Hendrick, Kyle Busch, and then getting punted on a restart by Jeff Burton.
He had especially choice words for Kyle Busch.
“I had a great car, I got up to 11th. (actually, 9th) Did ya’all see that? We were running good. I got run over by a veteran on a restart. I don’t know what the hell that was. I am so disappointed. Jeff Burton is one of the guys I would expect that from the least. Give and take. I don’t know, he said that the sun was in his eyes. It was blinding down the front straightaway. But, my luck, I didn’t think it could get worse until then. I hate that (Burton) was the guy, it is upsetting. I was running great and then I got hit by one of the veterans I never expected.”
“Before that, Kyle (Busch) was being a jerk, running in to me and carrying on and trying to rile me up. I don’t know why he spun me out on pit road. I guess he was blinded by the sun too. Or he just can’t see at all. The integrity is what is important so that is what I am going to hang on to. A small part of me wants to go smash him in the nose, but then I’d be lowering myself to that level, ya know? You just have to move on. I can’t wait to get back to work. Get this over with, get past this, I want to win races.”

C’mon Jr. Stuff happens. Besides, just a few races ago you ran over Kyle Busch for no good reason after he gave you a high lane…..you knew he was going to get you back for it. That’s the way your Daddy did things, isn’t it?
^ Exactly.
He just wanted to get you all riled up before you left the company. Just remember that he is imature and that you are alot better than that.
Hey getting jr.back is one thing, but to spin him out on pit road was a dumb one. Kyle’s dumb actions could’ve cost alot of pit crew members dearly. Kyle is proving to me more and more that he’s just as dim witted as his brother Kurt who almost ran over one of Tony Stewarts’ pit crew members at Dover l think it was.
i just hope that the jr nation is all pumped up for next season
seeing the 88 chevy
“boy I tell you what”
pumped?? hahah NO WAY…im EXTATIC(sp?)….you think Johnson was dominant? WAIT TIL U SEE JR IN RELIABLE EQUIPMENT..i predict 10 wins including the Daytona 500 and Brickyard!!
It’s gonna be the 88 in ‘08!
that’s the best way to get even!
Show ‘em all Jr!
So let me get this straight. Dale cant control his car on the pit access road, and after he looses controll he cuts in front of Kyle and somebody else (the 10 I think) and he gets hit, but blames it on the person that can controll their car on the pit entracne road.?
As far as the thing with Burton. What Jr never ran anybody over from behind on a restart….?
ok lets just wait a minute JR nation. At the risk of upsetting 95% of the NASCAR fans, what has JR ever done to make you think hes going to be any better in 08. What has he ever done when it comes to the championship picture. dont get me wrong hes a good driver but hes not a great driver. He will never be his daddy. And as far as the reliable equipment comment i have three words for yall. Martin Truex Jr. His teamate made the chase. with the same equipment. OH WAIT I FORGOT, it was Teresa’s fault. She’s the reason. She made a business desicion and because he left she savatoged the season, isnt that right JR nation. even though it was in her best intrest to have the number 8 finish as high up in owners points as possible. But it was savatoged. And lets go back to the business desicion that she made. come on lets face it JR nation he got greedy. He wanted the whole company that his father founded. but what gives him the right to the whole company over the other Earnhardt children. And whos to say he would have kept the other children in the busniess. So lets face it Teresa is not the wicked witch of NASCAR. But im sure nobody will agree with anything i had to say above because im knocking yalls golden boy. I will finish this comment with this thought though. Jr will have no excuse next year. It all falls on him, he cant blame the owner, crew, car or anybody else but himself . So lets see if hes as good as the whole JR nation claims.

He did not want the whole company! He did want 51 percent for him and his sister. Last time i checked he finished very close to truex in the standings.
Hey jr. not trying to be his daddy or else he would have gone to RCR and drive the black #3. Can you blame a guy for wanting a company that his dad built going down the crapper, cuz his step-mom hasn’t a clue on how to run a company thats championship material. Yes jr. has made some bad calls, but who the hell hasn’t. Name me one person that has never did anything to anyone.
goodoldboy87 I agree with you 100%
Sam, Jr wanted 51% for himself. If he wanted 51% for him and his sister, then he would have only said that he wanted 25.5%. And also what about Kerry? Howcome Jr never made a push to get Kerry a percentage of the company? We know Sr never re-wrote his will to give Jr a piece of DEI, but he also never re-wrote it to give Jr a piece of the company that Sr owned with Gordon. Howcome nobody ever mentions that?
Jrs biggest downfall has always and will always be his family. Nomatter if its his name, or if its his crewchief that he has to have, even though he has always done better when he had other crewchiefs.
IF jr has a good season next year then good for him, but if he doesnt God help him because his so called fans will pull out all the stops to voice how they think he is a letdown to his father and the Earnhardt name, And that is something that even I who is not a fan of Jr would never wish on him.

Ladies and gentleman, we have a new heir to the throne of King Bonehead…anonymous!
Goodoldboy87 maybe your forgetting 2004 he had 6 wins and wouldve left atlanta with the points lead with 3 races to go if bonehead carl edwards hadnt wreaked him! he’ll be fine next year if gets the same equipment as gordon and jj,as for the 8 car put gordon or jj in it this year and they wouldnt have done any better than jr did.
there’s no way Jr’s going to complain about Kyle when that was the exact same thing he did at Kansas and ruined someone’s championship hopes. atleast Kyle had something he could accomplish this year.
Fisha695 wrote:
Ok, so jr wanted 51 percent of the company! so? He makes more than 50 percent of the money for the company! Name one driver they have had who has mad more? I hope truex does well but have you seen him in lots of commercials? No!
Like Jr or not he brings in the money and money makes business and the world go round!

Donny, what is your reason for this comment? He was offered a deal with RCR! Are you saying that DEI has not had problems the last few years? Please explain?
Sam wrote:
well Jr was driving like he was drunk when he cut through the grass, flying down through there. I don’t see how you’re going to get mad at Kyle when Jr came out of nowhere.
The reason he didnt take a deal with RCR is because he doesnt like to be compared to his dad (in the way most fans do) and if he’d driven for RCR those comparisons would be non-stop.
Obviously Donny can’t read cuz I never said jr. never did anything to anyone. What I was gettin at was everybody has done something to somebody at some point and to name me somebody who hasn’t. Jr has made some bad calls. Remember this before jr. wrecked kyle busch, kyle slamed in to the back of jr at texas and tore up the back end of jr.’s car.
If that were to not have happened jr. may have made the chase. I’ll also put it this way DEI as a whole had 11 engine failures 7 of those came from jr.’s cars. So if those weren’t a factor he would be in the chase. I have all the faith in the world that hendricks cars.
will get jr. a championship.
anonyous wrote:
yeah, because i really doubt you can put 6/7 engine failures up against one wreck at texas and say that’s why he didn’t make the chase.
fisha695
I understand thats why i say that he doesn’t want to be like his father he wants to win his own way and be remembered for what he did and not who his father is.
he only missed the chase by like 150 points.
jr didnt run over kyle bush that idiot came up in fronmt of him off the corner, the guy in the top lanes is always going faster and the idiot cyle bush and you since your so dadn smart, he was trying to black jr and thats all there is to that jerk
jr its time to take a few off the track and they will leave you alone,
I’ll say it again. Junior WILL most likely get a couple of victories next season, but he won’t be on the same level as Johnson and Gordon. Don’t even count on that, “Jr. Nation”.
He just isn’t as good of a driver as Gordon/Johnson/Earnhardt, Sr. I know ya’ll are going to go crazy at what I’m saying but it’s true… no matter how much you all deny it.
Jr. has had a lot of engines go out, true, but if he wouldn’t drive so dang hard the entire race and be conservative like others until the end then he wouldn’t have had a lot of the problems that he had… engine failures and crashes. A lot of what happened to him this year was a result of over driving the car.
Eh, s__t does happen but all the same Busch is out of his ride so Jr can hop in it and he was openly angry with Hendrick; he might of decided to rile Jr. I didn’t see the race except like five minutes [[can't stand all the bs so I hardly watch it anymore]], but that’d be my guess.
You know Dale, lets just go have a Bud and then kick some ass. These drivers and people posting know nothing abt things that go on behind the scene.
Heck, the year was a bad year. Remember you Dad had some and he came back and so will you. Keep the Faith. Let the idiots that yell and moan, keep doing so and drivers like Burton and Kyle contiune on in their efforts to race to no where.
Hold your head high and keep your focus sharp, next season is not that far and all this will seem light years away when you are standing the Winners Circle many times next year.
Stay strong my friend, all of us are behind you 150%. We have known you from before time and we still drive with you today and tomorrow.
FireBall
You know Jr. most of these people that post are so jealous of you and what you have and they dont they trip every time they take a step.
They only wish they had a thousand of what you have and they’d still trip out.
So, keep smiling and let them all drown in their jealous ways. You are the man, an Earnhardt, they can not and never will be……………………
Take Care and God bless///////////
Give it a rest. Its over for the year, the horse is dead and beaten. Jr needs to chill out and concentrate on racing and racing only if he wants to be a contender next year. I want to see him finish first, my heart was broken this year. 2008 can only get better, cause 07 was horrible.
Hey Jr. can you say WAHHH:-(
Junior was off the pavement and on the grass all by himself before KyBu ran into him. He forgot about that. That pit entry lane is tough because it’s narrow and winding. If the sun is in your eyes as you enter, it would complicate your approach even more. Junior has had his share of running into people, sun or no sun. Relax, Junior. The nightmare is over. You now work for HMS.
I WISH THEY WOULD FIRE KYLE BUSH , I CANT STAND HIM, HES A CHEATER AND HE IS UGLY AS UGLY CAN BE.I WISH JR WOULD HAVE GOT OUT OF HIS CAR AND PUNCHED HIS FACE. I HOPE KYLE BUSH PISS TONY STEWART OFF NEXT SEASON AUSE HE WONT TAKE NO CRAP FROM HI……
I HATE TO SAY THIS, THIS SEASON RACE WAS THE WORSE EVER IT SUCKED , I FOUND MYSELF FALLING ASLEEP DURING ALL THE RACES EXCEPT DAYTONA . HOMESTEAD WAS EVEN BORING
NASCAR ADD SOME EXCITEMENT NEXT SEASON WE DONT WABT ANOTHER BORING YEAR
Tracey you sure gawdammy do the JR NATION proud and I’m sure NASCAR hates to see you go! By the way that button is called caps lock. Cracking me up.
Come on Jr…I was at Michigan when you spun Edwards for the win because you could not pass him…..
I was in Homestead, Sunday. Not too many
JR fans, there. I was listening the the scanner
and radio, during the race. They analysts
were making comments about JR’s driving.
Such as “He using the wall as a navigation
device.” Maybe, he should use a Garmin on
the track, to help find his way around. These
comments were said during the down time,
off air.
Jr will need more than better equipment, to drive
like JG and JJ (not a JJ fan). Of course, when
he doesn’t win every race, the JR fans will say
the same as this year, “It’s his equipment, JG,
JJ, and CM has the best equipment.” Oh!! Just
had an idea, they can install a Garmin in his
car.

I like Junior, but he still doesn’t understand he’s now the THIRD best driver at HMS. Jimmie won 2 titles and over 30 races in a career that started at least 75 races after Junior’s started. It’s not just the equipment, it’s the team. The organization. Junior insisted on bringing cousin Tony with him. He could’ve had a brain like Grubb or Gustafson. Guys with some type of engineering backgrounds. Those guys won races with goofs like Mears and Kyle Busch! I think Junior would’ve benefited greatly with a new HMS crew chief. The Junior cousin duo couldn’t get the job done working on the family ranch. Now they think they’re gonna win multiple Cup championships for HMS. You have to get rid of that anchor( cousin Tony) and attitude Junior because it’s dragging you down.
wrote:
What makes you think JR thinks he is the best? Jr has always complemented JJ and JG. JJ and JG are the two of the best drivers in RACING! Not just NASCAR! I am a JR fan and I have no problem saying those words because it is true. I agree to a point about Tony JR but JR will have to believe it before that changes.

Donny,
Yes, I am serious. The rules of this blog are that you cannot ridicule anyone because of grammar, spelling, etc….
I was talking about the facts.
1. Jr has never wanted to be his dad.
2. He could have driven for RCR.
3. He could have driven the #3.
4. He could have in fact driven for almost anyone he wanted.
Like him or not someone thinks he can race and those people who work in the business wanted to hire him. I do not work in NASCAR, do you?
How about we leave the past in the past, and let the future decide for itself. These drivers are human. Frustration can be overwhelming, especially when its all in the pubic eye. You have to give these guys the room to vent. They earned that right after this rough season, breaking in the COT. No Junior didn’t get his happy ending……..But give him the space to enjoy his new begining!!
Jr cracks me up. And I actually like him a lot, it’s just his fans. I could never cheer for him.

Exactly! atleast someone gets it.
Junior needs a set of curb feelers and a prescription windshield if he’s going to continue driving like he did at Homestead.
“I know fourth graders that use better English.”
Actually, the appropriate term here would be syntax, not English.
“If you want your posts to be taken seriously and not subject to ridicule, make them presentable.”
To what standards are you referring? If you are so educated and enlightened, surely you could proffer a presentation system for the man to follow.
“Like why you dress up for a job interview.”
It seems your own syntax requires a measure of “presentation” reformation.
“Project yourself as an idiot, prepare to be called an idiot?”
First you tell the man to project himself as an idiot, then you question his preparation of incoming juvenile verbage? Surely, one as highly versed in grammatical excellence such as yourself would not make such a fallacious error.
Is this a racing blog or an english class? Sorry, syntax class. Jeeeeesh

All Champions have overcome accidents, dnf’s, and hard luck during a season on their way to a championship. The one’s who can’t, never become champions.
It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools. JR was with DEI for 8-9 seasons and did NOT have engine problems every year, but NEVER was champion.
I don’t think Gordon over revs the engine on downshifts at Watkins Glen, THAT’S WHY HE WINS ROAD RACES! JR is NO JJ or Gordon. Kyle Busch is FAR more talented then that hack JR.
