Dale Earnhardt, JrDale Earnhardt Jr. said an online report that he has been offered ownership in DEI is “news to me.”

After qualifying, he was asked about the story that he has been offered 51% ownership of the company started by his late father.

“I don’t know anything about that,” Junior said, raising his eyebrows. “As far as I know, there’s been nothing new in the last week or more.”

Earnhardt, in the final year of his current contract with DEI, said he isn’t worried about the negotiations.

“I just want to get some wins and some good finishes and concentrate of what we’re doing on the track,” he said.

A story on ESPN.com Thursday said Max Siegel, president of global operations at DEI and the team’s chief negotiator, said Earnhardt has been offered ownership in the company but would not say what percentage. Siegel could not be reached Thursday for comment.

    hmm

I think if junior doesnt get more than 1% over Teresa he should just go drive for the same people his dad did. They are already giving him a pretty good contract if he comes and drives for them.

I heard the same thing on NASCAR now last night. All I have to say is that, its about time that DEI (Max and Theresa) see what they could lose if Jr. left. The way I see it is, Jr. is Dale Sr.’s son, Kelley is his daughter, and Kerry is also his son, they deserve it more than Theresa does, she’s his widow, NOT HIS CHILD!

If Jr does not get what he deserves as Dale’s son then he needs to entertain looking at driving for Richard Childress . That would be a historical moment in racing if Jr drove for Childress and stepped into the # 3 and won his 1st Nextel Championship . With everything that Childress knows and can teach Jr I think if he does not get what he deserves then he needs to contact Childress and rock and roll his career into what he is capable of as a driver .

Just my opinion ! Go #8

Well, I agree if he doesnt get what he wants at D.E.I. he shoculd race for R.C.R. He should not drive the 3 and will not because that number has been retired as it should If he gets majority ownership his Sister will run the company much like JR.’s race team this would lead to many great opertunitys and will make the team run much smoother

I actually believe he has his priorities in line!!
Concentrating on his performance on the TRACK
    is most important!

Once again, Jr shows us he’s his Daddy’s son by
keeping a cool head and allowing the negotiations
to be handled by his sister!

Go Jr!! Best of Luck, Win, Loose or Draw…
you’ve got the BEST ATTITUDE out there!

  7. 7 Jordan

I read somewhere that Hendrick was monitering the situation. I would never support Jr again if he went to Hendrick. I think he should goto RCR. Budweiser would follow him.

  8. 8 Samantha S.

i agree with samantha on this. Teresa is not Dale Sr.’s child, she’s his widow. she doesn’t share Sr.’s blood like Jr., Kerry, and Kelley do. the kids should have more ownership of DEI than Teresa.

The 3 has not been retired… What better way to honor Dale anyways?

If Theresa and Max aren’t offering atleast 51% they should save their breath… but they know that.

    RCR or Hendrick? lol.

SOME STUPID REMARKS HERE. DALE & THERESA HAD A KID TAYLOR,WHO WAS THE LIGHT IN DALE EYE. JR. NEEDS TO MAN UP AND WIN SOME RACES. ONE TOP FIVE SO FAR AND 3 DNF`S. IF HE GETS WHAT HE DEMANDS HE WILL BE THE NEXT MIKIE. WHO WANTS TO BE MIKIE?
AND THERESA WAS BEHIND THE SUCESS OF SR. SHE IS A BUSINESS WOMAN HE WAS JUST A DRIVE.

TAZMAN REMARKS :{AND THERESA WAS BEHIND THE SUCESS OF SR. SHE IS A BUSINESS WOMAN HE WAS JUST A DRIVE. } I think you meant Driver !

And in rebuttal to your remarks I would like to say this . HE WAS NOT JUST A DRIVER ! What have you been watching too many of the Dale Movies ? Lol . Dale worked hard for everything that he accomplished , he also made many many business decisions more then you are probably aware of .
Dale Jr’s career decision was made by his Dad. The decision for Dale SR to start with Richard Childress
was made by Dale not Teresa . Teresa came into Dale’s life and yes she gave some direction on some business decisions but to act like it was all TERESA is selling Dale SR short and I am sure as many of us who KNOW some facts about Dale Sr , your remarks are a little one sided and in my opinion biased . Are you Dale Sr’s son or blood ? No ! So then why should JR man up to anything he has done a great deal I did not know winning races is what made you a great race car driver or business partner . You need to rethink your opinions before calling everyone else’s remarks STUPID ! Because your remarks lack FACTUAL TRUTH !

  12. 12 0dessa

I can’t agree more with most of these statements. Dale should go elsewhere if he doesn’t get majority ownership. He needs to do what is best for him.

  13. 13 Cybil

Guess I won’t believe a word of it until it comes from Dale Jr. Damn media!

  14. 14 mcweix

Doesn’t anyone read his blog on his website? He has said he only wants to drive the 8. It was his grandads # and he is named for his grandad. Anyone else know that his real name is Ralph? He has also said his dad worked to hard to get him that number and give him the company security for him to just “up and leave”..It also doesn’t really matter if he wins races or not. Nascar fans tune in on Sunday to see an Earnhardt race. Teresa knows that, sahe can’t be that stupid or Sr. wouldn’t have kept her around so long!

  15. 15 HoppyGirllllllll

Naturally, he’s not worried about negotiations. It’s not like he won’t have a ride.

Taz Man, you are a moron. Saying that Dale was just a driver is like saying that Tiger
Woods is just a golfer. Sr. put this sport on the map.

  16. 16 Killer68

I hope to see Jr. get what he is looking for, but had Sr. made the arrangements in his will or otherwise for his kids to get the share he felt that they deserve this would not be an issue. Without one or the other DEI is hers to do with what she wishes. It is in her best interest to keep Jr. and make him happy. Had she done the things that Sr. was doing and that is keeping ahead of the curve this wouldn’t be an issue.

Rumor has it DEI RCR HENDRICK AND JOE GIBBS are all negotiating with JR and i say he should go drive the 3 car for drunkie richard childress. It will be the shot in the arm NASCAR desperately needs right now.
