Earnhardt Jr. not interested in buying DEI

Dale Earnhardt Jr. wanted at least 51 percent of Dale Earnhardt Inc. last season before he opted for a fresh start at Hendrick Motorsports. If the company were up for sale now? “I don’t mean this in a bad way, but I would not have any interest in purchasing it,” Earnhardt said following Thursday’s first practice at Chicagoland Speedway.
“I would not have any interest in purchasing any race team, just to have the ownership.” The subject was broached because of an Internet report earlier in the week that claimed DEI owner Teresa Earnhardt had commissioned the investment banking firm Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. to locate a buyer or financial partner. DEI president Max Siegel refuted the report, saying the company is not for sale.

Who cares what Jr wants to buy , I dont. Plus if Sr. would have wanted any of the kids to have any part of that business he would have had a will with there name on it, but did he um no. If Sr. would have wanted the kids to have part of the company he should have a will on standby knowing what he does is dangerous, sounds like to me he wasnt to worried about it. Plus teresa played her cards right and now shes set.

IF YOU DON’T CARE THEN WHY DID YOU MAKE THE POST?
if your tired of it go find another forum to post on where everyone is sucking kyles… well you what what
“now that is completly out of line and very inapropriate”
JR Marks? Hmmm, I bet Kenneth deletes your post and maybe even bans you form this site…….
I do go to Kyle forums to and all the JR marks are there saying the same stuff. George Sorry your offended, but you know this is the internet and Im sure youve never seen anything inappropriate on the net before, after all we are talking about a sport where men compete in racing and these people who get offended over everything is pretty much the downfall of the sport, where all the drivers are on a gag order and cant talk cause they might offend someone.
big suprised ROWDY is in here running his mouth…where ur pal Fisha? anything that has earnhardt in it, your gonna hear about Dale Jr…get over it…good god and to think you whine and complain about JR NATION…people like u are one of the main reasons that majority of them are ignorant…people tend to forget nascar fans are very loyal to their drivers…still dont give u a right to run ur mouth about another one…regardless how much u dispise them
ROWDY makes me laugh, he also hits the mark.
Earnhardt JR Kournakova is over reported, its a no brainer that he would not buy DEI.
His situation with Hendrick is consistent with his whole life, everything has been given to him…..Just like Anna…. Over reported and no championships to show for it!!
Well if Kenneth or whoever runs this site bans me or even removes the comments as i said in the comment above that is the downfall of the sport, and the country as we have turned into a bunch of over sensative complainers. I say who care what Dale Jr does, wooo hooooo hes won 18 races lets keep on marking out to him like hes accomplished something in the cup series.
THANK YOU JIM Finally someone who understands what im saying,
2 back to back nationwide championships, yeah its not cup but its nothing to laugh at either
17 or 18 wins, also nothing to laugh at
2 nationwide championships lol who even spends that much time in that series to even contend for 2 titles lol woops I guess Jr does, well jr is a big boy he is the cup series and he has 18 wins and his fans act like he is a phenom. Guess what hes not, im not saying hes a bad driver just not what his make him out to be
suddenly, this topic went from dale jr’s refusal to take any part of DEI in the future to slandering drivers with biased opinions based on their performance (getting “the word in” before people who actually care about this debate is kinda childish). getting off topic, that is the downfall of our sport. if its not important to you, than let it go. saves alot of people the aggravation.
First of all I have never slander Jr, I just said how ridiculous it is that we pay this much attention to this guy, as i said in the comment before Im not saying hes a bad driver, just tired of seeing people mark out to him like he is the worlds ggreates driver, and the downfall of our sport is not getting off topic it is that this sport has gotten so over sensative and corporate that we have to accomodate all the cry babies.
ill give rowdy credit this time. He USUALLY does not dig into jr, he usually digs into his fan base, which I am a part of. HOWEVER i do agree with him when he says that in general his fans are rabid and make him out to be a god. lets face it hes not his father, no one is and i doubt anyone will come close to being him.
as for jr crying, id call it stuttering he never blames anyone but himself 99% of the time (radio chatter doesnt count, i mean publicly) and all in all hes a GOOD driver, I would rank him top 5 current drivers.
for comparison sake, how many other current drivers have as many wins as jr (honest question I do not know)
GANJADUDE, don’t know exact numbers, but I know Johnson, Stewart and Gordon have more (and the championships)than Jr. Kenseth and Newman should have at least what Jr does or close. If you look at ratios for wins per starts, all of the above (as well as Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Hamlin) exceed Jr’s performance.
I would not rank him in my top five as there are truly alot of talented drivers in the league, I would rank him in the top ten though.
Although he does lead in souvineer sales and women…..
The DEI restrictor plate dominace in the past played a roll in his win count as well….Even Mikey won a few of those races.
Jim with that said and to give jr credit gordon has been in the series longer, but stewart and johnson your right they have far better records the jr, and busch and hamlin are far more dominant with the short time they have been in the series, as has edwards.
well , i don’t think that Dale ever wanted it, he knew that if he used the 51% deal last year that Teresa would say no and that would be his excuse to exit DEI. he wanted to leave and go with another team, Just because Sr and Teresa started DEI that didn’t mean that the kids would someday run it. Dale has never really listened to either one of them on or off the track even when he was in the Nationwide series and drove under the DEI flag. he and Kelley have always done their own thing. I can remember plenty of times that Sr. would try to tell Dale something and he would not even listen to him and do it his way.And Dale isn’t looking at running anything right now, actually he is looking to close JR Motorsports and merge the whole deal with Rick with the 5 and 88. With the lose of NAVY he really does not have a lot going on. He has had Mark Mcfarland, Shane Huffman, and Johnny Rumley all race before Brad and they were all his friends. Kelley has her little scrap book business and it might be a good thing to just forget about JR Motorsports and concentrate on his career. when JR Motorsports was formed it was just a way for Dale to sell his own merchandise anyway.
ROWDY BUSH wrote:
With that said you might want to remove Hamlin he doesnt seem to be able to close the deal and lately has been making stupid mistakes trying to force things to happen. Personally i think he is an awesome driver but needs to relax a little hence most of his problems have come from him.
ROWDY BUSH wrote:
I was not offended by whom you were talking about but we dont need the type of language you were using and you must remember that kids as well as adults can access these sites.
George couldnt agree more with you about Hamlin, as for kids being on here and reading what I wrote, lets be realistic kids go to school and have the internet and they can see or hear far worse then anything they will ever read on here.
Here is the thing, earlier this year Jr cryed and complained about the Nationwide series and bringing his team to cup, etc… Well what better way to bring your team to cup then to buy an existing team, especially one that not only has a Cup Quality shoppe, all the EQ to build Cup cars, an inventory of Cup Chassis, and most importantly of all in today’s NASCAR, at least 3 or the teams 4 cars locked in (not sure if the 01 is locked in)
WELL FISHA
I can tell you why cause he wants it all handed to him, thats why he left cause TERESA wouldnt GIVE him 51%, maybe if he wants that he should take some lessons from smoke on how to have people offer you half of there business. I guess Jr and Menard were both perfect teammates they were both spoiled lil boys who got everything because of their daddys
Fisha695 wrote:
Locked into what? the 1 car just droped to 17! not one car in the chase. I thought you said that RCR built DEIS cars? I can go back and get the quote if you have forgotten. Jr did not cry, he merly said that if they went to the COT he would just as well be in the sprint series for that 3 million dollar investment. You change your story to fit your argument. Last year you talked about how great dei was and how has that worked out? NOT TO GOOD.

Again, get you facts straight: Jr wanted to buy 51% not give. I bet she wishes that she had not let that gravy train go. 49 % of something is better than chapter 11.
Rowdy,
As for Sr.’s will…when a person with the money and financial portfolio like Sr had, it’s not that the kids weren’t in the will…it was protection from each person being charged an inheritance tax; a common practice among the wealthy.
In these cases there is always understandings in the families and things are clear what is what. It’s just a way to protect each heir from inheritance taxes.
and it sure seems funny that if you don’t care what jr buys that you wrote such a long reply about it.
i guess it’s like when I bash tony stewart!
even i learned not to waste my time tho! I’ve even quit reading about him.
smoke isn’t being handed half of a business he BOUGHT half of the business…

Exactly mare most people dont understand how that works, you could compare it to winning the lottery it may say 180 million but you dont even get half of that.
Mare wrote:
No, 50% of HASS was agift not one dime of money is involved plus he still gets paid as a driver
MARE
Ypou are wrong HAAS gave Stewart 50% ownership he didnt drop a dime on this as for jr maybe i am wrong on if he wanted to buy half or be given half the way i member it was that he wanted half either way he still wouldnt have nothing if it wasnt for his name. Not saying hes a bad driver just WAY WAY WAY over rated

OK first of all Im so sorry we are so sensative and I may have hurt your feelings, as for the comment above there is nothing inappropriate about it, SAM lemme guess your a cop arent you, all people who get picked on are cops or become cops. As for me having JR envy I wouldnt mind having his bank acct. but thats about it, why else would i want to be a red head with poor vocabulary that has let more then half of the nascar community down by not winning a race in over 2 years. If i was going to have a man crush on a driver it would be either gordon or newman or harvick cause i envy the time they get to spend with there SMOKIN hot wives.
not only was he given 50% of a very successful race team, GM gave JGR 5 million to buy Tony out of his final year. not bad for a days work.
Howie Motorsports Photography wrote:
I read that on another blog, but It is very hard to believe. No wonder tony could not turn it down. I knew GM wanted tony back but $5 million….WOW. Tony did the right thing.
GM didnt give tony 5 mil they gace that to gibbs to get tony out of there, so besides having a equity in a company im hes not making the he was before just yet until the sponsors become completely established and even then im sure alot of that money will go to developing the teams he wants there
Tony started working on this deal right after Homestead, he worked on it the whole off season and with Joe Custer. this was a good deal for all involved. Tony brings a lot to the team. His name, Hes made the chase every year but oneHes a 2 time champion, he is successful in his open wheel teams. It was a no brainer for CNC/Haas. He will bring in sponsors and he will probadly expand the team to 3 cars in 2010. they will still get there chassis and engines from HMS in exchange for the use of CNCs wind tunnel which is a very valuable tool right now because wind tunnel rental is expensive. this was a no brainer for Tony.

Howie has this one pegged! Smoke is a star! He is a true champion and will win allot more races. His future is also set as an owner and business man. That wind tunnel is as good as gold.
CHEERS KB WINS ANOTHER RACE IM GLAD HE SUCH HORRIBLE DRIVER

Nobody ever said he was a horrible driver but you throw it in everyone’s face and some of the JR Nation don’t want to hear it. We all know how talented he is and he will probably win championships but I bet before this year you didn’t even like him.Alot of people switch from a driver when another driver starts winning and then when he starts losing they switch to another driver.
As far as Dale being spoiled just tells me you dont know much about him because Dale didnt get nothing from nobody. Ihave been around him since his Myrtle Beach days and he had nothing, no rigs, no high tech equipment nothing. just friends and drinking buds. he does not live high on the hog or anything else.the only thing he has is a maid that cleans up twice a week. he has worked hard for what he has.

Srs will was just another way of how he wanted the kids to work for things and he wasn’t expecting to die in 2001. the kids were well compensated after he died. DEI was nothing compared to the construction company, real estate holdings, the dealership, souvenir sales and so on. so its not like DEI was a big deal but Teresa and Sr built that company and she was the brains behind it so rightfully it was hers to do what she wanted with it.

I hate to be one of these idiots who say oh i have known jr from his myrtle beach days or i have seen his house from the farm next door, but i have hung out with majority of the cup guys on several occasions they are forever at the brickhouse tavern if you even know what or where that is i would be surprised i have never jr is a bad person or a bad driver but lets face majority of what he has, he has from his name and i dont care if jr nation wants to hear what i have to say they are going to hear it just like i have to hear how wonderful he is blah blah blah as for me just starting to like kyle your right and wrong, when he was at hendrick i always said he was a bad a$$, and now that hes a gibbs where he isnt one of hendricks perfectly shaved and eye brows plucked puppets i like him even more. so to all you haters who cant admit talent when you see it “how bout dat KB”

Rowdy is right
Finally someone has the b@lls to stand up to junior nation
and say what Many think.
Junior is overrated currently.
He has yet to prove himself as an exceptional driver
who deserves the amount of praise heeved on him
from a largely inherited fan base.
I am not saying he cannot reach that level of success;
I certainly think getting away from DEI was a great move
forward for his career.
However he still has yet to really break out of a shadow he was born under.
some of you may point out his 18 career victories. However the majority of those victories were at restricot plate tracks when dei was untouchable, heck even mikey won a few. In the last 2 years he has won just 3 races and dissappointed in the chase both years. A bone headed move in 2004 at Atlanta cost him the championship and he hasn’t been on form since. Junior fans need to open their eyes and realize that yes he has a great amount of talent and is a great guy. However, he hasn’t lived up to the expectations and failed to turn into the weekly contender everyone expected him to mature to. This year seems to be different. However we will see when the money is on the line during the chase.
until then, please realize that junior is a great driver, but not at the level that all you so blindly want to believe.
Cheers
