Sales of Dale Earnhardt Jr. merchandise has skyrocketed 107 percent in the week since NASCAR’s most popular driver said he was leaving his late father’s company at the end of the season.
The surge surprised industry experts, who believed sales of Earnhardt’s red No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet merchandise would dip while he searches for a new team, number and maybe even a new sponsor.

Wow, she raking in the money now, with all these sales. Not so dumb after all. DEI owns most of the rights for the merchendise. Plus, DEI’s profit isn’t just from Jr. If the dude isn’t happy at DEI why keep him so he can showcase mediocre performance. Doesn’t help DEI. The team wants to win, Jr. wants to win, they don’t see things the same way, let him go. If Newman is available for hire, I’m sure DEI will try to woo him, and I’m positive Newman can do some good in a Chevy.

I agree with Odessa. I’m not giving Teresa one dime of my money I’ll settle for what I got and start getting new stuff when Jr lands at his new home.
And Serg the mediocre performance was from mediocre managment putting mediocre funds into mediocre equipment. Get real why hire a music producer run a Nascar team. The money that was spent to pay his salary could have been used to improve a mediocre engine shop. Teresa needs to look at herself and ask the question again , do I want to be a Nascar owner or get into show business? Sha is never at the track, she never supported her drivers. Kevin was right she is a dead beat owner.

If I’m not mistaken , Jr. owns the licesensing rights to his anme , so he makes the money off of merchandise with his name on it. Now if you buy something with DEI on it and not Jr.s name , then Teresa makes that money.
Lets not forget though that she is still raking it in by selling Sr. merchandise, I doubt him leaving will cause a major impact compared to his father.
Anything with the No. the car the name of the team is owned by DEI. If it has his name he gets a percentage. How many shirts or jackets do you see with just his mug and his name? DEI is making the money.
Since Teresa is about to learn a big lesson we will just have to watch as she falls on her face. BTW i hope Jr signs with ginn racing since they seem to take care of their drivers.
