Dale Earnhardt Jr. said he talked with Anheuser-Busch’s Tony Ponturo and gave his blessing for Kasey Kahne to replace him as the Budweiser driver.
Kahne was introduced as the driver of the Budweiser-sponsored 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup car Tuesday, and Earnhardt Jr. was introduced Wednesday as the driver of the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet sponsored by AMP Energy and National Guard.
“They’ve got a great opportunity,” said Earnhardt Jr., who became Budweiser’s driver in 1999 and will finish up his tenure with the company at the end of the 2007 season. “I talked to Tony this morning and expressed my excitement for them with Kasey. I’m great friends with Kasey.
“I’m pretty proud of what they’ve chosen to do for their future. They were really respectful in all of their comments yesterday.”

Good comments from Dale Jr. on this move. He never burns any bridges he might want to cross in the future. Smart guy
true, its still not going to be the same, you know what just crossed my mind the 9 car was a beer car 20 years ago with awsome bill.(be for you guys rip my face off i know it was coors!) maybe he will have that kind of luck that bill had. and not with a 7/8 scale car. well good luck for Kasey Kahne and dale jr!
Who cares about his opinion?
