Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Friday reiterated concerns he expressed last weekend about the racing surface at Texas Motor Speedway, which he has called one of his favorite NASCAR tracks.
Earnhardt told reporters that a bump between Turns 1 and 2 of the 1.5-mile quadoval will “hold this place back for years to come.”
Earnhardt said the bump discourages two- and three-wide racing through the 24-degree-banked corner.
Earnhardt, who sits fourth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup, won his first Busch and Cup victories at TMS.
