Dover race activities not affected by Delaware State University shooting

Local officials believe the shooting incident that occurred at Delaware State University early this morning is isolated and poses no threat to patrons or activities at Dover International Speedway. All events at the Speedway are on schedule for this weekend and are currently operating according to plan.
Nextel Cup qualifying is scheduled for 3:15pm/et today, followed by the Sunoco 150 Busch East Series race at 4:45pm/et. Traffic patterns have not been affected. On Friday, September 21, 2007 at approximately 12:54 a.m., a double shooting occurred at Delaware State University, which is located near Dover International Speedway. The Delaware State University police department continues to investigate this incident, and any inquiries should be directed to them at (302) 857-6290.
