Darrell Waltrip would shorten ‘The Chase’, have separate points

Darrell Waltrip generally likes this season’s re-tooled Chase for the Nextel Cup. But if NASCAR had asked, he would have offered a couple of suggestions.
“First, I’d like to see the Chase reduced from 10 races to seven or even five,” said Waltrip. “Ten races is too many for a ‘playoff.’ Also, I’d have a separate points system for the Chase once it got under way.”
