Dale Jr on Kyle comparisons to Dale Sr.: ‘Give my dad a little more credit’

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a message for all those on the Internet and around office water fountains comparing Kyle Busch to his father after Junior’s run-in with Busch last weekend at Richmond International Raceway.
Yes, they are similar on the track with their aggressive styles.
Off the track?
“Personalitywise, they’re totally opposite,” Earnhardt said Thursday between practices at Darlington Raceway. “Give me a break. You know my dad better than that. Give my dad a little more credit.”
To those who disagree — and there are those who do, including writers who have covered the sport for more than 15 years — Earnhardt said, “They didn’t know him.”
The conversation came up at the end of Earnhardt’s hauler chat. It was a continuation of the incident between Earnhardt and Busch battling for the lead in the closing laps at Richmond.
Both drivers have said it was the product of hard racing. Many fans, particularly those upset that the accident extended Earnhardt’s losing streak to 72 races, believe it was the result of Busch’s driving like the senior Earnhardt did to earn the nickname “The Intimidator.”
“He’s fast. He’s running well. He’s quick. He’s aggressive,” Earnhardt said of the 23-year-old Busch. “This is Dale Earnhardt from ‘89 and earlier. See, Daddy quit doing that stuff after a while.”
History says otherwise. In 1999, Earnhardt spun out Terry Labonte on the final lap for the win at Bristol. Fans booed him unmercifully as he headed for Victory Lane.

Well, his driving style is alot of the same agressive driving that Sr. had. and Sr. would spin anyone too, I remember Sr. telling Richard on the radio during a race in 1999 when Dale Jr. ran only about 5 races he said tell that boy to get out my way or Ill put him in the fence. we all laughed after the race and Buddy asked him if he would have done it and he said you would have found out in 1 more lap if he didnt change his lane.You have to understand this is nothing serious to the drivers. just ask Rusty about Sr. they were the 2 of the best friends off the track but on the track they were rivals and the fans need to take alittle more from the drivers and not get so fired up over Kyle because if you do racing will be miserable to watch every weekend. It is suppose to be fun.

In other words, he’s not worth giving the time of day. People like him just enjoy causing trouble and will do anything to get a rise out of everyone. The more you respond to him, the more your feeding his sickness. The more you ignore him, the less reason he has for existing.
Obviously, we have had someone trying to create havoc here and it’s not limited to just vulgar comments.
Rest assured he’s been reported to the authorities.
Let’s leave it as it is and move on with some appropriate NASCAR discussion!

Yeah i agree to an extent, but Earnhardt was driving throughout the modern era of nascar before he was tragically taken from us all. Petty was racing when things were un-restricted wide open and all out before he retired in the early 90’s. Those “200″ wins…that will never happen ever again with Nascar the way it is today. Petty was a great driver and today probably the closest replacement to him to beating and will beat his 7championships..is Jeff Gordon. Give credit where it is due. Dale Earnhardt was Nascar. There will never be another Dale Earnhardt.It’s his style. He was and Still is THE MAN. Jr’s right. Kyle has some of that 89 and earlier style, but still i think thats an insult a 23yr old compared to a Legend

Well I sure didn’t see what Guest put up…but obviously I wouldn’t have liked it! Thank you Kenneth. He sure got alot of people freaking out. Busch being compared to Dale Sr. is an absolute insult. I am impressed that Busch being friend or foe…Dale Jr said what needed to be said…Give me a break! My Dad was better than that! HA! I love it!
Don’t give the little whiner any more of a big head it just won’t fit into the car if it gets any bigger. He will never be as good as Dale Sr and never have as much class as Dale Jr. Suck it up Kyle you just don’t have it!

I am very happy guest has been taken care of but we really should be able to handle some IP bans or something, I got no problem banning people who act like that with the board I am an admin of. We have is set so anons can post, but it needs to be moded first and registered users posts show instantly. By doing it like that, we can keep track of IP addresses and ban those in need of it.
