Dale Jr doesn’t know his car number yet, but he wouldn’t mind the number ‘8′

Dale Earnhardt, Jr may have decided where he will be driving next year, but he does not know what number his car will carry.
“I’d like to be No. 8, but we have to obviously talk to [DEI owner] Teresa [Earnhardt] about that and see what her interest is there,” he said. “Other than that … there’s other numbers that I have interest in. We’ll just have to sit down.
Dale Jr also said he plans to have input over the look of his future Hendrick ride.
“I want to have my hands in the design, what the look the car looks like. Rick’s said that I’ll have some ability to have some influence on what the car looks like, the number, things like that. We’ll just have to sit down and see what looks cool.”
- Waltrip says Teresa Earnhardt wouldn’t let go of #15 either
- Hendrick ready to leave the No 25 behind
- DEI cannot sell the #8 to Hendrick
- Dale Earnhardt, Jr will have new car number in 2008, will not keep the #8
- Yates to resurrect the No 28 with Kvapil in 2008

Number’s and sponsors will have a big impact I think, must be weird having your life be a number and then have to change it, it would be weird for anyone. Hopefully he is happy with whatever happens. Wonder what other numbers he likes?
*Sorry for you who have big ol 8’s tattoo’d on yourselves.
Just stinks to think my nice jacket will be useless now too. (well, “OLD” anyway)
chevy_chica. don’t throw that jacket away yet. Teresa just
may realize she could gain a lot of points releasing the
#8 (I doubt it, but it is a long shot)
There’s always 08
Well the 25 already belongs to Hendricks and it wore the Budweiser brand for a long time. Just in case TEI won’t give up the 8..
I think there’s pros n cons to it. If he keeps the 8, he still gets
to use his Granddad’s number. If he changes it, he won’t have that
lasting tie to that part of his car/DEI that he’s trying to shed right
now with all this to begin with. It really would be like a completely
fresh start.
i think his # will be 5 but i was wondering what will happen to the kelloggs sponser cause im pretty sure people don’t want cereal and beer together
Casey is driving #25 & I’d guess he is about to stay with it
NASH, is #08 available? Oh well, guess we will just have
to wait.
Very, very true a lot of us would love for him to have the
#8, but with a new start we can all get used to a new
number. Further more, I doubt Teresa would ever be kind
enough to let Dale Jr have the number 8.
See ya all at the races.
I forgot, Kelloge would be great for Casey, he fits it
much better than Kyle Busch did. Casey is such a soft
spoken person & a gentle sole. Someone MOM’S would like.
Well it’s just a thought……………..
if Kyle were to go to DEI there is a possibilty they would trade the 8 and the 5 so both drivers could keep the same numbers..
Well I think he is gonna get a new #, Theresa is not going to let the 8 go and she would put Busch in there in a second just because she can. her choices seem to have nothing to do with whats in the best interest of the sport. and it seem more logical to have Casey go to the 5 and Jr to take over the 25, so its not like he is actually replacing anyone. bud did sponsor it once upon a time, plus, I think the National Guard will be willing to let BUD in. Ya know JR Motorsports biggest sponsor is the Navy so Im thinking theres gonna be something there for a future cup car from JRM and other branches of the military. Who knows, I could be completly off, all that really matters is that my driver is happy with his choice. He is the one who has to be out there racing. It has never been about the company or the sponsor or even the number for me…all though I have enjoyed the #8 Budweiser Chevrolte and the DEI name… I really like Jr as a driver and a human being. I am his fan win or loose, racing or not. I wont throw out anything, just put it all in a display case after the season ends. and get new stuff to show my support for my driver.
