Look my personal feelings for him aside, I think NASCAR and the Media and the Fans need to realize that Dale was not the first person to die during a race, and he was not/will not be the last.

Yes it’s 10 years since he won it, but its 50 years since Lee Petty won it, 40 years since Cale Yarborough won it for his first time, and the list goes on.

For NASCAR, the Media, and The Fans to focus so much this past week on this one driver is disrespectful to the 31 other winners of this historic race, and to the 19 other drivers, 1 track worker, and 1 fan that have died at the track or from injuries resulting from an accident at the track.

OMG: FISHA LET YOUR HATRED REST!!! Dale is the only seven time champion to die on the track! He was also the most popular driver at the time. If the drivers you mentioned were as popular then they would get as much attention.

It’s not about how popular he was, it is about RESPECT for ALL of the Former Winners of the 500, not just him. You tell me to get over it, well guess what to all of his fans HE’S DEAD AND WILL NEVER BREATH AGAIN, SO GET OVER HIM!

This wasn’t a NASCAR thing, DEI did this. DEI the company the SR founded paid tribute to him and there nothing wrong with that. NASCAR will never forget or move on from Dale SR. and the reason is simple. He passed in his prime and he was and still is NASCAR most popular driver. Now for all the drivers in the past Lee Petty, Cale Yarborough, bobby Alison I have all the respect in the world for what they have done for our sport. And if petty enterprises want to honor lee petty it would be the same thing. People can’t forget where NASCAR came from, and ill agree with you that people need to remember past Sr, but let DEI honor him.

I’m not talking about this I’m fine with what DEI did, I’m talking in general over SPEEDweeks, it was over done with the Sr stuff.

Yeah and Thousands of People still miss John F Kennedy, but he isn’t shoved down our throats every time we try to watch coverage of the election.

Yes people miss him, and you can’t change that, but at the same time he is dead and nothing anybody does will ever turn his ashes back into a living human, AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THAT EITHER.
