The car owners are calling and Dale Earnhardt Jr. is ready to listen. In fact, NASCAR’s most popular driver is enjoying the courtship part of free agency. Earnhardt said Friday he’s had preliminary talks with potential employers, and his sister has been prioritizing all of his options. He announced last week that he was leaving DEI, his late father’s company, at the end of the season.
“It’s really neat to get down to the core of some of these guys and understand ‘em more,” Earnhardt said. “It’s a big new world out there. I’m really excited about my opportunities and the possibilities and what’s going to be on the table and I’m excited about how the response has been from some of the owners. Their excitement really makes you feel appreciated and makes you feel necessary and like you’d be an asset - which is a great feeling.”
Earnhardt wouldn’t reveal who he has spoken to so far, and said early discussions had yet to produce a clear favorite. But he’s been surprised at how nice the owners have been. His sister, Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, also has spoken to several teams and has scheduled meetings with others as she negotiates her brother through the biggest free agency period in NASCAR history.

I have no doubt that Jr will choose the best team.
We have no idea where the track will take him the duration
of the 07 season, nor do we forsee next season…
all us fans can do is wish him the very best!
here’s the deal:
he’s not going to hendrick cuz everyone’s under a long contract over there
there’s a possibility he goes to RCR but……….
since RCR and DEI are merging engine programs, it comes down to how bad jr wants to be
from DEI
Gibbs doesnt do alcohol sponsors
if Jr gets Budweiser to come with him, he winds up at Ginn racing
if not, he goes to Gibbs
thats IF he decides to totally separate himself from DEI
Gibbs!!!!!!! Theres a million other sponsors who would pay more than budweiser
WATCH OUT FIR GINN RACING HE HAS LOT OF MONEY AND IS READY TO BREAK HIS SELF TO GET JR . HE DID FOR MARK MARTIN AND LOOK HOW GOOD THAT HAS PAYED OFF, TIMES TEN , OK LOOK AT THIS JR WANTS TO BE IN A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM ,HE CANT GO DIRECTLY INTO THE HENDRICK STABLE BECAUSE OF THE DRIVER CAPP. BUT GINN RACING IS ALEADY A SATILITE TEAM FOR HENDRICKS ,CARS ,MOTORS ,AND TECHNOLOGY. THIS IS A WAY HE CAN STAY WITH CHEVY AND BUDWISER, U MIGHT WANT HIM TO DO HIS OWN THING WHICH I AM THE SAM BUT LOOK AT WALTRIP JUNIOR WILL HAVE THE SAME WORRYS AS HIM NO WONER POINTS AND NO DRIVER POINTS SO IF ANYTHING HAPPENS HE HAS NO PROVISINALS TO FALL ON … THINK THINK .. 2008 GINN RACING
