Car owner Richard Childress was unable to sign Dale Earnhardt, Jr., but his team is hardly hurting as is. The car owner said Saturday that like a lot of car owners in the garage, he’s very interested in talking with newly minted free agent Kyle Busch, possibly for a long-rumored fourth Richard Childress Racing car.
“Anybody would look at Kyle right now - any team in here,” said Childress.
Childress, one of the most independent minds in the Nextel Cup garage, is not someone even remotely daunted by Busch’s reputation as a hot head.
“I can name you eight or 10 guys in here at his age that were a handful. He’s learning.” Of Busch, Childress added, “He’s the hottest property on the market right now.” In fact, some in the garage believe that Busch’s driving talent is equal to or even ahead of that of Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

I REALLY THINK THAT STINKS BECAUSE DALE EARNHARDT DROVE FOR RICHARD CHILDRESS AND YOU ALL WOULD THINK THAT HE WOULDD GO AFTER DALE JR AND LET HIM DRIVE THE NUMBER 3 CAR THAT HIS FATHER DROVE BUT NO NOW HE WANTS KYLE BUSCH THATS TOTALY BULL IF YOU ASK ME. BUT I AM A DIE HARD DALE JR FAN AND I STAND 100% BEHIND DALE JR BUT ITS JUST A SHAME THAT CHILDRESS DID NOT GO AFTER DALE JR. HE JUST DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS MISSING NOW THAT DALE JR WENT TO HENDRICKS MOTORSPORT AND I HOPE THAT MAYBE SOMEDAY THAT DALE JR WILL DRIVE THE NUMBER 3 CAR BECAUSE I FEEL THAT NOBODY SHOULD DRIVE THE 3 CAR EXCEPT AN EARNHARDT AND THAT WOULD BE DALE JR. Well Patty, if you are a true JR. fan you would have seen his interviews where he said he didnt want to drive the #3 car at this point in his career.Anyway, who’s to say that RCR didnt pursue JR.? This was JR’s decision & his alone.
WELL MATT, I AM A DIE HARD JR FAN AND I DID SEE IT WHEN JR SAID HE DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE 3 CAR YET AND THAT LATER ON DOWN THE RAOD HE WOULD LIKE TO DRIVE IT BEFORE HE RETIRED TO HONOR HIS FATHER. I JUST REALLY WOULD OF LIKED IF JR DID GO TO RCR THATS WHAT I WAS HOPEING FOR BUT I WILL GO WHEREEVER JR GOES AND ALL I REALLY WANT IS TO SEE HIM HAPPY HE DESERVES SOMEONE THAT WILL STAND BESIDE HIM AND CARE ABOUT HIM NOT HIS HIS STEPT MOTHER ALL I KNOW IS DALE JR DESERVES TO BE HAPPY. Hey Patty your pretty boy Jr, a good but not great driver, choose the Hendriks money over RCR. Not RCR not going after after him!!!! About KB, check the stats. He has won twice as many races in the last 2 years than Jr. Car or driver? Guess we will see.
I hope that Kyle does go to RCR ! And I hope that he blows the socks off of HMS ! Childers has done more for Jr. then Hendricks ! Maybe Jr. will figure out that you can’t put a price on true friends !
Teaming KyBu with Harvick = overtime and job security for fabricators at RCR. Like them or not, they are exciting to watch. Like Todd “Jethro” Bodine in the truck series. Childress has nothing to lose.

2. Whether the driver died while in the car or not or was a legend in NASCAR history, I don’t like the idea of numbers being reserved for others nor retired… If no one else is more fit to drive the #3 than Dale Jr., then what makes Bobby Labonte so special that he is “allowed” to drive the #43??? More over, what made John Andretti that special??? And Dave Blaney, would you take him out of “Fireball” Roberts number???

LOOK AT IT THIS WAY WITH OUT THE DRIVERS WE WOULD HAVE NO NASCAR AND DONT POOR PATTY ME.ALL I DID WAS SAY WHAT I FELT THIS IS AMERICA. AND AT THE RACES AND AT HOME I ALWAYS PRAY THAT THE DRIVERS ARE SAFE AND NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM. I WILL BE AT THE PEPSI 400 AND I WILL BE AT RICHMOND AND TALLADEGA, CHARLOTTE AND MARTINSVILLE AND ATLANTA THEN TO TEXAS AND HOMESTED. i DO KNOW THAT YOU CANT GET PIT PASSES FOR DAYTONA BUT AT THE REST OF THEM I ALWAYS GET PIT PASSES AND GARAGE PASSES BUT THIS TIME AT DAYTONA I WILL HAVE PIT AND GARAGE PASSES BECAUSE I KNOW SOME SPONCERS AND ONE OF THEM AR GOOD YEAR TIRES SO WE HAVE THE PASSES TO GET IN. Kyle is a good choice and much more talented then JR…not as mature, but more talented.
