NASCARCheckers/Rally’s has been released from its position as the official burger of NASCAR, creating an opening in the quick-service restaurant category. NASCAR called the separation a mutual decision.

Checkers/Rally’s, based in Tampa, also has exited its sponsorships of the Indianapolis 500, Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. All of the motorsports deals were scheduled to run through the 2009 season.

Checkers/Rally’s confirmed the end of the sponsorships, but its chief marketing officer, Terri Snyder, could not be reached for comment.

    Yeah right!

Yeah right is what I thought too Kenneth! Funny that they bailed on all their sponsorship committments all at once and it was a mutual decision. Sounds like NASCAR was trying to help them save face when they couldn’t justify dumping more money into sponsorship.

Maybe if they had put a Checkers anywhere near my house they wouldn’t have had to leave their role. I’m sure I would have eaten enough of their burgers to singlehandedly keep them going!

Kenneth, go to http://www.checkers.com/find.html and put in your zip code to find the ones near you.

Personally I’ve only ever seen one Checkers in my life that I know of, and that was when I lived in VA for a few years.

Same thing goes for the Sonic restaurants, I see ads all the time for them, but I have only ever seen one of their resturants, and once again that was when I lived in VA… l0l

I haven’t seen any in California. And I’ve been to a

It seems like we see less and less Checkers-Rallys in our area. We really like them. They’ve slowly been slipping away after arriving like gangbusters about 17 years ago. We get Sonic during our trips to Charlotte. I wish we had them here but we don’t. As track burgers go, I’ll take a Brickyard Burger anytime.

Dang, there is a Sonic in nearly every single town around here in Georgia and South Carolina. There is a Checkers right down the road from my house. Checkers = Greatness, and I ate Sonic food today, ironically.

So basically your town has all the Sonics/Checkers and the
rest of North America has nothing. Lucky you. ;)

I’m only about 30 minutes away from Atlanta Motor Speedway, but somehow I’m in the one town that doesn’t have a Checkers or a Sonic! Everyone else gets at least one of those two and usually they get both :(

Then why did they pull out of the most prestigious race/track in the world ?

Obviously your theory has just been proven wrong……
