Ricky Carmichael finished seventh in a 50-lap super late model race Saturday night at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway. It was the second late model race for the 15-time motocross/supercross national champion.
“It was mission accomplished for our Monster Energy team,” said Carmichael, who had a tire go down in his first race on March 24 in Ellisville, Fla. “We ran against some guys who raced at New Smyrna for a long time and we held our own. I was really pleased with everything. The seat time is so valuable and I’ve learned so much in a short period of time.”
Carmichael will be back at New Smyrna Speedway Saturday night for a 100-lap super late model race. Joining Carmichael will be Ginn Racing teammate Matt Martin.
