Busch’s disenchantment with teammates and sport grows

A week ago at Daytona, lame-duck Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Busch complained his teammates weren’t doing enough to help him win. Friday at Chicagoland Speedway, Busch made it clear he won’t be doing anything for them in the future, either.
“I’m not helping anybody but myself and this team for winning races,” Busch said. “And I’m not helping Jeff Gordon. I’m not helping Jimmie Johnson or Casey Mears. They are able to go back and see what I run and that kind of stuff. But for me, it’s just to go out there and to try to win races and keep winning with my name.”
Busch said that ever since last month’s announcement that he would be replaced next year by #8-Dale Earnhardt, Jr., he has felt ostracized from the team. Asked if he was concerned about how this could hurt his reputation with fans, Busch said, “My perception has been horrible since I came into this sport, so it doesn’t really even matter any more.”
- Petty says Johnson-Gordon battle for title ‘not good for the sport’
- Clint Bowyer holding his own with more experienced teammates
- Can Jr really expect to contend for title with Hendrick?
- Busch’s qualifying time disallowed, will start from the back
- Busch and Hamlin will race as teammates at Martinsville

He is a truely great driver talent wise . He is however a dumbass on teamwork nascar politics and being intelligent player in the game of media. INsert both feet stupid.
one more thing . When u have an opportunity to do what u love and get paid tall cash to do it on a national stage.. Don t act like Terrel Owens . crying all the time.
They didn’t really do him any favors, why should he do them any? Fair
trade.
He was given a good shot with a great team and blew it, that is why they let him go. I do think the fans didn’t give him a chance cause of his brother but he lived up to his brother’s rep and the fans were right. He’s a talented driver and I hope he gets it together and starts fresh with a different attitude.
Right now he should keep his mouth shut every time he opens it he is making it worse. Now he’s turning on the fans, not a good move.
Why don’t you guys put yourselves in his shoes and see how you’d react to the same predicament….
Busch is a better driver than Jr but it is obvious Jr has the astronomical appeal(and money)
Any company that seperates its teams into two seperate areas is never a good sign in the
first place. I will give him this, he is the first driver I have seen since the late 90’s
that actually prefers a loose race car and wins like that. You don’t see that anymore
Kyle needs to stop crying like a baby lol i know it sounds mean but jeff, jimmie, and casey were all there to win for them selfs
um JAYSON..what happened to Greg Biffle??? he loves loose race cars… also Kyle can drive a race car no lie..BUT JR is a better driver all around you just wait and see..its all bout equipment..DEI has been holding JR back..and wherever Kyle goes he def wont be wining like he is now..JR in that 5 car posts great opportunities for JR NATION and u know it so..so stop talking smack about JR and accept the fact that Hendrick made a good decision.just wait til Daytona in 08…top 2 RP drivers..good luck on winning another RP race…
I think its time for Rick Hendrick to take Kyle out of the #5 car and just sit him out the rest of the season!!
Busch is right on a couple of levels.. why should he help someone who hasn’t helped him? That doesn’t seem fair. And yes, he is a MUCH better driver than Jr and you damn well know that Mr.Hendrick only wants Jr for what is attached to him; the fans, the money, the popularity. If Hendrick wanted a good driver on his team, he would have gone after someone else. And now i’m sure all the Jr fans will be jumping on my back attacking me for what I just said about him, but as the great Darth Vader once said , “Search your feelings, Luke, you know it to be true!”
Just to contrast the situation, you don’t see Dale Jr. throwing a royal hissy over stuff like this. You can tell a lot about a person in the way the people around him react to him, and if his teammates don’t want to help him, Kyle probably ain’t that great of a person towards them. It’s probably for the best that he’s leaving Hendrick because that kind of dissent is the kind that tears race teams up.
Good to know Kyle doesn’t care for his teammates anymore. He can do better than Hendrick. So what if he won’t have that good of equipment anymore, he will really be able to show case his talent and not have to rely entirely on his equipment
Ow and Amanda. I agree. Had Dale JR. been named Steve or something else other that after his Dad, Hendrick wouldn’t have anything to do with him
And when have I seen Kyle Busch help out the other 3 for their wins??
Umm never. If you come into the sport with a snobby attitude, the sport will seem against you. Stop crying already! No team is perfect. Take for instance Tony taking out Denny. It happens!! I don’t think it was intentional for no help. Everyone wants to win if they can.
kyle finished second last weekend!! honestly, i know that everybody wants to win, but if you can win what more do you want then second? im glad his going to be gone
It’s time for him to go. Let him annoy some other team.
“Oooh, poor, Kyle.” That’s the game he has been playing since he’s been in Cup. It’s really getting old. He thinks the world is against him. If he keeps racing to become the leader of the self pity race then the world just may end up against him.
I hope he’s already got a deal with another team because this isn’t the way to sell yourself unless he wants to be driving a Champ car or Indy.
None of his team mates had the car to help him out at Daytona. If he can’t see that then maybe he’s not the driver I thought he was. He did nothing to help those guys to the front either. Its amazing how selective some people’s memories can be or maybe he’s just that stupid.
I’m sure guys like Cale, Petty and Allison are laughing their asses of at this. They never had a team mate to help them with anything. It actually was them against the world. Race the damn car, Kyle, and stop crying. You make Tony’s tantrums sound like nothing. If Hendrick was giving him inferior equipment I could see where he would have some room to cry, but he is getting the same if not better opportunity than some. If he can’t do anything with that, even in this situation then maybe he shouldn’t be in Cup. ARCA could always use another driver.
he keeps digging the hole deeper…great talent that needs to be harnessed
why is complaining about his team mates when his big bro was right behind at the end of the race???
Las Vegas was always saying how happy they were to see those 2 move on,
now I know what they meant.
If this stupid kid would learn to just shut his mouth and drive as good as he does then he’d be fine. But since he insists on making an ass out of himself I have no sympathy for him. He should just cut his ties early. Itd make me happy! And if it were any different he wouldnt be there to help his teammates win. He’d probably be tryin to wreck em so that HE could have the win. Grrrr.
I agree that Kyle Busch is a snot-nosed brat,he acts before he thinks of the consequences. He runs his mouth and thinks everybody owes him something, he hasn’t matured at all since his rookie year. Yeah Kurt and Kyle may have been good kids before they got into nascar, but time changes people. On the comment from “Lissa” Personally I think think Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch have 1 in common, but 2 totally different personalities. Tony is accustom to winning races and championships in every level of racing he has been involved. He may be high strung, but he is a 2 time nascar champion. Kyle has what like 4 or 5 maybe and wants the repect of some one who has been in nascar for ages. He needs to grow up,shut his mouth and drive.
P.S Not a Stewart fan Either
I apologize for grammar, not that big on typing. What I was about Kyle in comparison to Tony, was that Kyle has 4 maybe 5 wins versus Tony being a 2 time cup champion with 30 wins. Tony’s attitude is a little more soap-opera and Kyle’s is more crybabyish. I just don’t think they would mesh well.
KYLE BUSCH IS A PUNK-BITCH!!!! Grow up Kyle!!!
