Greg Biffle says he will stick with his NASCAR Nextel Cup team.
Vancouver, Wash., native Biffle, in his fifth full season with what is now Roush Fenway Racing, has a contract through the 2008 season, but said he plans to stick around beyond that. Earlier this year, he had said any extension on that deal would have to be done by the end of this season.
“I felt like it was important to get it done and not become an issue next year,” Biffle said.
As for a timetable, Biffle said, “I don’t know how soon we’ll get going on [an extension], probably as soon as we get winter testing going, we’ll probably start getting after that.”
One reason Biffle is staying put is that 3M has signed on as sponsor of his No. 16 Ford, and the deal extends beyond 2008.
