Greg BiffleRoush Fenway Racing teammates Greg Biffle and Todd Kluever have a new racing challenge ahead of them this week. They will both be competing in dirt late models Thursday night, July 12 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisc. Both drivers will have late models sporting the 3M paint scheme when they compete in the “Race of Champions” at the 3/8-mile dirt track.

“I have very limited experience racing on dirt tracks so this should be interesting,” Biffle said. “I’m glad they are letting us have 30 minutes of practice before the race. I’ve run a few of these races before, but they have all been on pavement. There is no telling what will happen when we climb into someone else’s car and race on an unfamiliar track. No matter what happens, I’m sure we’ll have fun.”

Kluever’s only dirt experience is on two wheels so the brief practice before the race will be beneficial to him as well.

“I raced dirt-oval motorcycles for years, but this will be pretty different,” Kluever said. “I’ve been wanting to build my own dirt late model for a while. There are so many short tracks near our NASCAR races that I thought it would be cool to have my own car. This will be a great way to have some fun and get some ideas for my own car someday.”

The Race of Champions is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. (CDT), and will also include Kenny Wallace and Sterling Marlin. For more information on the race, go to www.cedarlakespeedway.com.
