NASCAR’s Robin Pemberton said about 80% of Nextel Cup team owners are in favor of accelerating the Car of Tomorrow’s three-year phase-in to a full debut in 2008.
“It’s close to 100% from mechanics, crew chiefs and engineers,” Pemberton said.

Maybe they should poll the fan…..personally, I don’t like the COT, but am I
really trying to “roll with it”. No pun intended.
I want to know who the hell’s idea was it that the car needed to change? Was it the drivers that drive them (dont think so)? What are the benifits? What was wrong with the COY(car of yesterday)?
Can you say there goes NASCAR again dicktating what the drivers and teams do.
I personally don’t like the style either, I am not sure of any exact advantages the COT gives over the older, err COY style. It would seem to me that there would be more drag created with a raised spoiler rather than more of a fixed style on the trunk lid and what about the front end air dam?
