RIP Kenny.
My son and I met Kenny when he drove in the truck series. He was great! We used to watch him on, I think it was, ” Wednesday Night Thunder” on one of the ESPN channels from IRP. He raced with guys named Stewart and Jeffy. This guy made Stewart crazy. You saw how much they genuinely loved to beat each other. They had a couple of tangles in the Cup seris too. They were fun to watch. And when Kenny died that day in 2000, that Stewart guy had his personal plane fly the Irwins around to do what they had to do. We also gave a donation in Kenny’s name to Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis. That was one of his charities. God Bless Kenny Irwin, Jr!
I remember watching him race, really sucks, we’ve lost a few drivers over the past
15 years who could have truly changed the sport if they were still around today.
Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin both were lost at Loudon and both were up and coming stars,
Adam had a lot of buzz after winning an arca race in his first start. Irwin was just
startin to get goin as well, and then how can any of us forget Davey Allison and Alan
Kulwicki
HE WAS ONE OF THE LEGANDS. WE MISS YOU KENNY ALONG WITH DAVEY AND DALE AND BENNY AND BOBBY HAMELTON AND OTHERS,NOW YOU ARE ALL TOGETHER RACING UP IN HEAVEN
What a great driver he was. My family loved to watch him! We don’t just remember him on the day he died but every now and then when we are at the races or watching them on TV. Just like we do Dale Earnhardt Sr., Davey Allison, Rich Vogler, and many, many more of the best drivers in the world in several different series. Racing is a dangerous sport but who could live without it?
Well said.
another year may pass but in my heart your memory will always last Stronger than death you will be because in my heart your spirit lives with me
Checkered flags forever Kenny Irwin
