Kyle Busch starts Truck team

Kyle BuschIn a press conference held live on SPEED, Kyle Busch announced today that he will enter two Toyota Tundras full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series beginning in 2010. Busch will pilot the #18 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Toyota Tundra whenever the Camping World Truck Series runs in companion with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. For the non-companion races, the #18 Tundra will be driven by 24-year-old Brian Ickler. Running the full schedule for KBM will be 20-year-old Tayler Malsam in the #56 Toyota Tundra.

Busch recently purchased the assets of Xpress Motorsports, the Camping World Truck Series team that won in June at Dover International Speedway and finished the 2009 season among the top-10 in points. KBM will operate from the Xpress Motorsports shop in Mooresville, N.C., until its new shop, also in Mooresville and currently under construction, is completed. Overseeing the three-driver, two-Truck outfit will be Rick Ren, who will serve as the team’s director of competition. The 52-year-old from Tilton, Ill., is a NASCAR veteran who won two Camping World Truck Series championships as crew chief for Ron Hornaday Jr., (2007 and 2009) while at Kevin Harvick Inc.

Cant wait till Brian or Taylor throws a fit and stomps to the trailer when Kyle wants to talk about the race re cap with him.. This is a disaster waiting to happen. He is a great driver dont see how he is gonna be even a decent owner unless he over night learns the word respect for others. You can be a hard ass or even very demanding but unless those guys can communicate forget it. I dont like his b.s. so dont care if he fails

    Craig,

I couldnt agree more, Kyle is a great driver, as for the owner side this has multiple possibilties. One he focuses to much on his team and his cup side falls apart as we see with JR, Two it could give him a different perspective, and make him focus even more, and maybe even make him grow up a little bit as we have seen with SMOKE. Either way we can not predict what is going to happen, I know one thing Billy Balew is hating this, he use to have a guy that would race for free and dominate ALMOST every race he was in.

With more of this story unfolding i find it very interesting that johnny Benson may have a huge part in KBM. I think this is an awesome opportunity for Benson. I would love to see Benson back in a truck, and I think just even having him part of the organization would be a huge for KBM. Hopefully they can get sponsorship together to get Benson in a truck
