JGR to announce Logano replacing Stewart on Monday

Joe Gibbs Racing has set a Monday afternoon news conference to announce its driver of the No. 20 Sprint Cup car.
The announcement won’t be a surprise. Eighteen-year-old Joey Logano is expected to be named the driver to replace Tony Stewart, who is leaving to become a driver and co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing.
Logano, who turned 18 in May, has started 10 races in the Nationwide Series with one win (Kentucky), three top-five and seven top-10 finishes. He won the NASCAR East Series title last year as a rookie.
“He’s a full-time Nationwide driver, and with that expertise – winning a race already this year and doing everything he’s done in the Nationwide Series – I believe he’ll be fine,” said JGR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch when asked about Logano’s future potential. “I feel like he’s got the talent. If he gets good communication with his crew chief – which he’s already worked on and done well with – he’ll be fine.”
who cares lol…KYLE BUSCH JUST GOT SERVED!!!!…..and he CRIED ABOUT IT…yeah its all fun and games when u wreck dale jr at Richmond…but its not ok for Edwards to totally run u up the track by knocking on ur rear bumper…get over it cry baby!!!
screw joey lagano….hes just gonna end up the same way hamlin and kyle are and blame everything on everyone else but themselves

LOL That was funny poor kyle the crybaby…
I reallllyyyyy hate Logano. He’s a little pain in the ass.
Can’t help to say I LOL’ed at tonight
lol…i wait for Rowdy to get in here and trash talk cause it happend and blame edwards to…but u know what…the dude the leads the most laps hardly ever wins at bristol…part of it…too bad it wasnt the 88 getting revenge….carl says after the race “b4 i hit it i thought, what would kyle do…”…so he hit him…lol Makes total sense to me…i nearly woke up my niehgbors screaming so loud laughing at kyle hahah..thats gotta suck tho..leading 415 laps of a 500 miler and lose the race with 25 to go
Kyle got raped and cried about it
LOL
LOL LOL LOL LOL
The haters are in full affect, lets think about this in a resonable way. It seems to me whos ever ahead of Ewards in point he tries to dump. He’s done it in the cup and nailed boyer twice in nationwide series. Personally I dont mind its racing, and Kyle had another good run. I guess all of you haters are right it must suck to be in first get moved and then finish 2nd. I couldnt agree more with all of you’ll I would much rather finished 18th 2 laps down or 33rd 18 laps down.
Maybe he did cry, like no other racer has ever complained about the outcome of a race, all that matters is that he was up fron all race and finshed up front again, which with all his wins and consitent top 5 is what is needed to win a championship. Sounds to me the haters are crying about KB finishing 2nd to try and redirect the so called run there drivers had.
So go ahead run your mouths but he still had another good run and all our crying about his interview is stupid, cause that has nothing to do with the race itself. This forum is about racing not how well drivers do in interviews.
the bump and run IS RACINNNNNNN c’mon even i wouldnyt cry about that
and kyle got a taste of his own medicine cuase he does the same thing…thiers no reason to hate him hes no where in comparison to my fav. driver
and to follow up on the other comment what goes around comes around
ex: richmond but diff. driver
im a gordon fan but out of carl and kyle, ill take carl anyday cuase if busch wins IF then it’ll make him even more cockier…thats what i notice about him now…hes cocky
what carl did was fair- and if an of you saw what I saw then
You know the corner after Edwards passed him, he bumped Carl back
But carl held on and pulled away.
Busch may have been complaining in post race but come on
You don’t stick a microphone in a guys face after he just ran hard for 500 laps. To be fair, Kyle didn’t have any time to cool down and speak without adrenaline involved in his thoughts.
Either way it was another dominating performance by Busch who just got beaten on the last stint.
It’s racing, move on an look forward to Richmond!
Cheers

You couldnt be more right,
haha were way off topic with the headline
o well
Yeah we are but everyone has to hate, so we i guess wins they post the story that edwards moved kyle for the win we can talk about JOEY replacing smoke
Back on topic
I really can’t say that I believe Logano is ready.
I don’t want to see him turn into another Reed Sorenson
Success in the Nationwide series doesn’t guarantee success in Cup,
Only a rare percentage make that quick transition work
(examples of it working being Edwards and Hamlin, evidence of
It failing being Scott Riggs, sorenson, and JJ Yeley, And many other development drivers)
Give him a full season in The Cup Warmup race aka Nationwide series ( sorry but you know it’s true) to mature and learn around the Cup guys and then let him loose in the big leagues
I agree I thinks its way to early for him. I guess its sink or swim for Logano hopefully he will do good, hes got some big shoes to fill.
The hype around Joey Logano reminds me so much of Barack Obama. He’s treated like a racing messiah…the one…sliced bread!
well hell have Greg for a crew chief so hell do as good as anyone else in the car
HOWIE though you said home depot was done, after this year, hmmm guess not

Home Depot only has a contract till the end of 2009.
Also didnt you say Logano woould be driving the 80 at richmond, well hes not hes driving the 02
I cant wait to see Logano and what he will do
I was PRAYING for Home Depot to cut out of a primary sponsorship. NOW I have to change all of my Tony Stewart stuff that has a #20 on it and the color orange. I was going to leave my steering wheel cover and my licence plate on my car, but noooo, now that the little juvi is going to be driving the #20 AND be orange, i’m changing everything. I reeeeallly don’t like that little kid. He’s got sh** for brains, ever heard him in an interview? Not the brightest crayon in the box.
I think Zippy looks unhappy. His body language is very obvious as well as some of his expressions. I notice these things because I am a mental health worker. Zippy doesn’t like the way JGR is going–magnets and drivers who think they are entitled to win or run up front. What happened to Denny? He has become a big baby with entitlement written all over him! What happened to the kid who worked hard for everything he got in racing? Can’t blame Smoke for getting away from the bunch including JD Gibbs who is nothing like his dad and seems to have that same entitlement mentality. Sorry but I’m for Edwards at least he worked for where he is and works his butt off testing, testing, testing. I’m with Junior who had to prove to his dad and work hard and go to college. I’m with Smoke who toiled in many other series and became a champ in all. I think Joey is a nice boy but his whole future has been planned out by his dad and he has become “entitled” to Smoke’s ride. What happens when the adult Joey decides he’s tired of everyone planning his life for him? If I were his dad I wouldn’t want him around the two whiny boys now that Smoke is going away.
You all are just a bunch of hypocrites who act like Kyle Busch anyway. Going to suck to see someone else driving the 20.
