DEIDale Earnhardt Inc.’s Vice President of Motorsports Operations John Story said Sunday morning at Infineon Raceway that the team … is still looking for a sponsor for the #01 Chevy driven by Regan Smith. If no sponsor is found, Story said, the team will cut back to three cars.

    I’m surprised that DEI has three cars let along four, maybe DEI should scale down to a two car team and put all there resources into just two drivers and maybe create two Truck Series teams as well.

    The drivers in the Cup Series would be Martin Truex Jr. if he plans on staying and one open seat, while the drivers in the Truck Series would be Aric Almirola and Regan Smith. Both Truck Series driver can drive, but are no where ready for racing full-time in the Cup Series.

    What about Paul Menard, same goes for him, Nationwide Series or Truck Series.

    Maybe Mikey and NAPA could move back in:)

    Nah, Almirola is ready for the bigtime. If he could get 36 straight races in a car, he’d be okay. It’s got to be hard to be consistent when you in and out of the seat every other weekend. Almirola and Truex would be fine (assuming Truex hangs around).

    I could see them running Menard in trucks or Nationwide, but his daddy pumps so much money into that team that DEI would be stupid to disband the #15 no matter how much they suck.

    Its the beginning of the end. They ruined Srs company and to think that Teresa was the brains to begin with, what is she really thinking and why dont she do something herself.

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

    Teresa was not the brains! she read the contracts and made sure they were in line. Sr was the power behind the scenes. Sr made the company and she has done nothing more than make it a cash cow!

    Well the way I remember it back in 1998 when I worked with Steve Park Teresa was always at DEI overseeing day to day operations. DEI was formed in the early 80s but their first driver was Steve and she did a lot more than look over contracts. In the early 90s she trademarked Srs image, his name and was the first to bring driver souvenir’s out.I actually just sold Srs first 1991 53ft featherlite trailer which he use to stand on and sign autographs. He bought it in Mocksville and the person that bought it is going to restore it.

    Howie is right, Tereasa was always the brains behind the man, she sort of convinced Sr to make the company. Now the ironic part in the story, if i remember it right, was tereasa’s reason behind Dale making DEI was to have an establishment for his kids…and fast forward to the 2007 debacle with Jr and Teresa, we all saw how that ended up and now in 2008 nothing seems to have changed

    Well if she is the brains then she must have lost them!

    Could be she is more broken hearted then she lets on. I remember how my grandmother was after grandpa died she just sit in the kitchen most of the time staring out the window unless an old friend came by. For some people grief lasts a long time and they blame those closest to them.

    bye bye DEI. Teresa really drove her late husbands company in the ground.

    More like a bunch of angry Jr fans scorched earth campaign. Theresa was and is still the brains of the outfit. If not for the Jr nation negative campaign teh team would still be one of the top in the series.

    DEI will be sold to the highest bidder.

    Too many Jr fans are blinded to the truth. Theresa was by far the brains of the outfit. Most are blinded by Jr to ever consider things such as facts.
