What does prior incidents have to do with the
issue of whether she was discriminated against
by “good old boys” at NASCAR??

Typical to
blame the victim — especially a female victim…..

Along with what Jeff said, it’s a case where the defendant is trying
to say that this “victim” has an unreasonable history, and that she may be
the type of person that will take any little window of opportunity
to get her benefit. And I’m not talking career opportunity, more of
a “hey, that guy spilled his hot coffee on me, give me 15 mill.!”

It’s not typical NASCAR, it’s typical of any Defendant. They’re trying to infer that she has terrible judgment (DUI, driving w/ suspended license, restraining order, violation of probation). They use that to say that if she has such poor character and poor judgment, then what’s to stop her from making this stuff up to get back at NASCAR for firing her? The more they can make a jury believe that type of stuff, the more likely they are to not side with her.

I’m not saying either side is right or wrong. We’ll let the court attempt to figure that one out!

Maybe if nascar didn’t have their underwear in a wad to diverisfy..quick…now..whatever the cost,
they would check applicants out more thoroughly. You get what you pay for…now pay the bill.
I maintain that diversity programs are nothing more than reverse discrimination.

And what the heck is Ripper talking about…give her a car??

Are they not smart enough to check these people out before they hire them? Use the common employer methods and contact previous employers etc.

I think Fontana, Talladega, Pocono and Daytona should all lose a race.
Or, if you want 2 races at Daytona, use the road course in the summer.

I also agree with the idea of upping the technology. Let’s face it
these cars are nothing like what comes off the assmebly lines, so
what is the big deal with moving forward and making progress? Well,
other than the fact that the powers that be in NASCAR would lose
some of their control and pocket change.

What I think sucks the most is the possibility of the Truck Series
going away. I love those races, especially when they are not in
conjunction with the Cup events. There isn’t all the ridiculous
hype and hoopa, it’s really about the racing. And, look at how many
people would potentially lose their jobs.

Let’s face it, NASCAR has never been leading edge with much of
anything, other than finding ways to get people’s money. Pretty
soon there will be a lot less of that lining France and Smith’s
pockets.
