I must really be a novice but I think that the reason that the attendance at Nationwide and Sprint is because after Dale Sr. was killed NASCAR over compensated the safety issues. If a car catches on fire now, the driver can hardly get out of the cars. I would like to go back to the nintys and watch the “good ole boys” race. Now everyone is afraid to get a scratch on their cars. Some of the new grudge matches may prove to be good racing if NASCAR will just stay out of it. Let the wrecked driver get out and throw his helmet at the car that wrecked him. Bring back the good old days of hard racing and anything to win mentality. Too many “team” cars.

The stupid gimmicks, I agree need to do away on FOX, especially the Boogity thing, (we mute the TV on every start, thanks DW) and how about the cartoon “Digger” if I wanted to watch cartoons I would get up and watch on saturday morning like the rest of the children. I tuned in to watch Nascar and only ESPN and ABC do a great job at it, Maybe CBS should be given Fox’s time slot.
and what is with the differance between the lip movement and the sound on TNT, the have about a 1 second delay from sound to picture.
OK done gripping, just glad to know that DW rubs other people the wrong way.

I get Speed with my upgraded HD cable but we dont get Fox sports unless we subscribe to a big sports package. I just watch F1 and no other sports. This is very stupid that I have to miss 4 races! I already pay like 120 a month for cable in Pennsylvania.

I had the privilige to know Bob Burdick my whole life. My father and Bob were best friends for over 50 years.
One point and time before he went to NASCAR, when he was still racing locally, my father at times worked on his pit crew.
He was a wonderful and caring man. He could make anyone laugh.
I trully miss him.

Yeah, they will still have to work, you don’t get that much in a rear end collision, once I settled for 10 grand and that’s all I could pursue over a drunk driver.

I’m still here and racing vintage bikes. Marty should be here too. The Righteous Brothers did a song called “If there’s a rock and roll heaven”, well, if there’s a motocross track in heaven, Marty is giving lessons and kicking butt. Can’t say much more than my memories hurt some because I won’t have a chance to bump into Marty at one of the races. Whenever the gate drops, I will give a thought to Marty and what he did for our sport and our spirit.

Let’s face it the race at was Dover was tough driving that poorly handling Top Tier car that most drivers would give their wife and children to get behind the wheel of. Poor Jun-Bug got tired earlier in the race then he normally does and needed to stop for a Big “MO” candy bar (snack with his name on it and he gets a percentage of, remember it is all about the money) and a Juice Box. Of course he did not check with his Crew Chief first to make sure the crew was not eating Ice Cream before he pitted and it cost him 7 laps. Now the really bad part is they looked at the car both in the pit and after the race and found absolutely nothing wrong with it. Why is this bad? Because if there was nothing wrong with the car there must be something wrong with the driver. So they checked the driver they had a physical done and he checked out ok, but then they had his head checked out and to no-ones surprise they found nothing there either.

I just ran across this post. I am so sorry for Cotton and his family. I spent a lot of time in that shop. For folks that weren’t familiar with the building and it’s contents, you probably aren’t aware of it’s significance. It’s like losing a member of the family.

LOL Please your giving Jr way to much credit, yes ive seen him hold onto a loose car but thats usually when he’s 10-12 seconds off the pace/ Ive never seen him handle a car on the ragged edge. Well I will say that move he made on the last lap of the 500 was pretty impressive, but thats about it.

It was a tantrum alright but not over the splitter hitting the track. He thought something on the car broke. He would be able or should be able to tell if the splitter was dragging the ground. What it was is someone who doesnt know how to drive a car that isnt absolutely perfect, it was off and he couldnt hang on to it.

Huge Thread at NA$CAR dot com about JR and his inability to drive. It started commenting when it was less then 60 comments, it is now almost 800 comments and a most of JR Nation is crying over the JR bashing. Several people have had comments deleted for unknown reasons and the natives are getting restless. Rumor is JR will get another crew chief but many of us are trying to figure out who would possibly want the job. I can’t think of 1 crew chief that would consider it in the cup garage and many of the NNS guys want no part of JR.

I can’t believe he pulled into the pit on Sunday claiming a problem with the steering that no one could find. After Rick got involved and told him nothing was wrong and to drive the car he went out and turned decent lap times but his temper tantrum and pit road snack and juicebox break already put him too many laps down to make a difference. The reports say that after the race HMS crew and engineers looked over the entire car and could not find the imagined mystery issue with the car. Maybe it is carbon monoxide, maybe it is bad drugs, maybe too much partying Saturday night. What ever it is it seems to be in JRs head and not the equipment.

He better start selling more merchandise or he won’t get any team to sign him after his HMS contract expires. He might have to move his team up to cup to stay in a cup car at his current performance level.

I still don’t get why he would say how horribly Jrm was doing if its not true. Then why would he allow family to join a failing business unless he thought they could make a difference. Which appears they have. He needed support nothing wrong with that, but this is an example of Jr nation defending there fearless leader even disputing what he says to avoid him looking bad. He said it, why does it need to be reinterpreted by his fans.
