Target Chip Ganassi Racing announced Tuesday that 2007 IndyCar Series and Indianapolis 500 champion Dario Franchitti will return to open-wheelers in 2009 with the Indianapolis-based team. He’ll replace Dan Wheldon in the team’s No. 10 car alongside Scott Dixon.

UPS has reportedly reached to a multiyear agreement with Roush-Fenway Racing to sponsor David Ragan and the #6 Ford next season, with an official announcement expected within the next two weeks.

AT&T won’t be able to sponsor the #31 Sprint Cup car of Jeff Burton next year, but that doesn’t mean it will be nowhere to be seen around NASCAR tracks. The company is still weighing its options on how to market to NASCAR fans without having its logos on a car.
