Kasey Kahne technically wasn’t eligible to run the All-Star race. He didn’t let that stop him from stealing the $1 million prize.

Kasey Kahne was voted into Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star Race by the fans. He will start 24th.
This is the fifth year the fans voted in the final driver in the All-Star Race, and the first year Kahne received the popular vote.

AJ Allmendinger led another ex-open wheel veteran Sam Hornish Jr in a 1-2 finish at the Lowe’s Showdown and will advance and race in the All Star main event:

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said Friday that his JR Motorsports team could move from the Nationwide Series up to the Sprint Cup level as soon as 2009. But the popular driver said such a move would occur only “if the right opportunity comes along with the right sponsorship and driver.”

The exclusive negotiating period between Office Depot and Roush Fenway Racing in regards to sponsorship of Carl Edwards beyond his season has expired, Office Depot Public Relations Director Mindy Kramer confirmed Friday afternoon.
