Denny Hamlin finally broke through at Martinsville Speedway after two close calls, and it wasn’t Hendrick Motorsports he had to beat.

NASCAR officials say they will not intervene in the dispute between Roush Fenway Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing who admitted they took a part accidentally from the Ford organization.

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Wednesday completed a “continuation test” at Darlington Raceway with drivers #16-Greg Biffle, #24-Jeff Gordon and #12-Ryan Newman. An initial test with the same drivers earlier this month got Goodyear half-way to its goal of finding the right tire combination for the May 10 race at the legendary track.

Michael Waltrip admitted to Scene Daily on Friday afternoon that it was his team that took the swaybar.
