NASCAR just released its estimated attendance figure for the Craftsman Truck Series race in California today.
According to the race report, there were 37,000 people here.
I don’t know where they got that number, but the actual amount of fans in attendance was by far closer to 3,700 than 37,000.

UPDATE 8:
NASCAR has finally postponed the Sprint Cup race until 1:00PM EST Monday. The Nationwide race will follow.

NASCAR has postponed the Nationwide Series Stater Bros. 300 at Auto Club Speedway for the second consecutive day. The race was postponed from Saturday to Sunday, with it scheduled to be run after the Sprint Cup race, when rain washed out events at the California track.

Add Phoenix Racing, Davis Motorsports, Rusty Wallace Racing and Richardson-Haas Motorsports to the list of teams that will be appealing penalties.
All of those teams were penalized for not having a tight oil reservoir tank cover, something that could allow air flow easier through the car, during qualifying Feb. 15 at Daytona International Speedway.
