Mac Tools is partnering with #7 Robby Gordon Motorsports to beget the first ever Mac Tools sponsored Nextel Cup Series Car. The car will make its debut during the Nextel Cup Series race on October 21st at the Subway 500 at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA.

The overnight USA TV rating for the NASCAR Nextel Cup LifeLock 400 on ABC 2:00-6:00pm was a 2.8. Race experienced two rain delays on ABC. At 6:00pm, the race went to ESPN2 while still under rain delay. Racing resumed from 7:15-8:30pm ET on ESPN2, earning a 2.1 overnight rating.

Team owner Chip Ganassi said he is hopeful to have a contract with reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti signed this week. Franchitti, who remains under contract with Andretti Green Racing in the IndyCar Series, is joining Ganassi’s NASCAR Cup team for the 2008 season.

“When the caution came out on Lap 207 the field was frozen. At the time of the caution, the #16 was in the lead and maintained a reasonable speed and was declared the race winner. There is no passing under caution.
