Goodyear returned on Tuesday [Sept 25] to Daytona International Speedway for tire testing with NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow in preparation for the historic 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 17. Rain slowed Goodyear’s two-day test last week at DIS.
Two-time NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart will not race in the Knoxville Late Model Nationals, which runs Thursday through Saturday in Knoxville Iowa. He will however sign autographs for the first 750 fans to fill Knoxville Raceway’s grandstands for Saturday’s championship show.
NASCAR officials have penalized Tony Raines, driver of the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. entry in the Busch Series, for throwing his helmet at a competitor in Saturday’s race at Dover International Speedway.
