Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Friday will announce a personal services agreement with clothing manufacturer adidas, sources told ESPN.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This year’s coverage of the Pepsi 400 will mark the debut of TNT’s Wide Open Coverage, a unique television format that will feature no national commercial interruptions, only three local commercial breaks per hour and an innovative on-screen video box for sponsor branded content.

NASCAR chairman and chief executive officer Brian France said Tuesday that while race teams will always test the rules of racing, they’re fighting a battle they can’t win.
“We could have any penalty structure and (still) face somebody willing to think they can outsmart us,” France said.

Kasey Kahne will be running a special paint scheme on his Evernham Motorsports Dodge to promote the new Universal Pictures’ comedy starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Jessica Biel, ‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.’ The film will be released in theaters on July 20.
