Tonight’s Nextel Cup ‘Jim Stewart 400′ has been postponed until tomorrow due to rain.
Tomorrow’s scheduled start is 1:00PM Eastern.

Fox’s broadcast of last Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway earned a final Nielsen Media Research rating of 5.4 and a 14 market share, Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Daily reports.

One of NASCAR’s top sponsors plans to file a formal petition asking that it join other racing leagues and start using ethanol to power its racecars.

Rain is in the forecast this evening at Richmond so there is a question that NASCAR will get the race in tonight. Currently there is a 50% chance of rain in the early evening and a 90% chance in the late evening.
UPDATE: The race has been red flagged due to rain.

Jamie McMurray said he was stunned by NASCAR’s $25,000 fine for bumping with Kevin Harvick in the final moments of Sunday’s Talladega 500. There were two drivers Dale Earnhardt never messed with, on or off the racetrack: Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough. He knew better.
Maybe if Earnhardt’s toughness-loving cult realized that, they’d heed those two regarding Jeff Gordon’s 77 victories and counting.

Clint Bowyer won the race off pit road with about 28 laps to go Friday night and easily went on to his fifth career NASCAR Busch Series victory.
