No matter what Michael Waltrip does, every Sunday is the same. A NASCAR Cup race is held and he’s not driving.
The colorful personality, sponsor-savvy NASCAR driver and rookie owner’s life seems like a song stuck on repeat.

As much as any sport in America, NASCAR has roots tied to a certain culture: white Southerners. During the last 10 years, that fan base has helped propel NASCAR to become the unquestioned king of American motor sports.
Now, TV ratings are down for a second consecutive season, and NASCAR officials are talking with urgency about [...]

After seeing speeds run upwards of 197 mph during Busch Series practice on Thursday, NASCAR officials elected to make a change to the restrictor-plate used in the series. The new plate will be 29/32nds of an [...]

“As of this morning, Michael Waltrip Racing and David Hyder have ended their employment relationship,” Waltrip said Friday at Talladega Superspeedway.

Michael Waltrip has failed to qualify for seven of the eight NASCAR Nextel Cup races this season, and he believes the system now being used to select the fields is somewhat flawed.
The two-time Daytona 500 winner, now also owner of a three-car, first-year team, says he has a better idea.
