Sam Hornish will attempt his second Busch Series race of the season this weekend at California Speedway. Hornish, who has won two Indy races at the track in Fontana but has never driven a stock car there, is competing part time for Penske Racing in the series this season.

Indianapolis 500 winner Jim Rathmann (1960) and NASCAR champion Bill Elliott (1988) will head the list of 2007 inductees to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, which will have its ceremony Aug. 15 in Detroit.
Former Indy Car, Indianapolis 500 and Formula One champion, Jacques Villeneuve, from Iberville, Quebec is close to getting started in NASCAR and will also race the famous Le Mans 24-hour event June 16-17 in France.
Team owner Bill Davis was upset with Jeremy Mayfield, who failed to qualify for the Daytona 500 despite fast times in testing and in practices at the track. Davis said Mayfield’s No. 36 car was good enough to post a top five or top six finish.
