The NASCAR Nextel Cup 2007 season will feature more points for victories and more drivers in the Chase for the Cup, NASCAR vice president of corporate communications Jim Hunter said this afternoon.

BAM Racing announced today that Mike Bliss will return as driver of the No. 49 WhatsOnline.com Dodge heading into the 2007 Nextel Cup Series season. In addition, the team is pleased to welcome veteran crew chief Lee McCall to lead the team into what promises to be its best season to date.

The cable sports giant has already signed Office Depot to a marketing partnership involving NASCAR and is close to several deals to sell key on-air sponsorships.

Starting in 2007 driver Brendan Gaughan will bring an entirely new game to the Craftsman Truck Series. The most substantial change comes in his choice of rides for the 25-race season as Gaughan will campaign the newly designed Chevrolet Silverado.
The team has previously fielded Dodges.

Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jarrett and Greg Biffle have recuperated from their injuries sufficiently to be able to test their Nextel Cup cars beginning Monday at Daytona International Speedway, according to team representatives.

Mark Martin, who will run a limited Nextel Cup schedule for the first time since 1987, will once more run the Bud Shootout and the Daytona 500. Martin’s Ginn Racing team announced the first 14 races of the 47-year-old driver’s limited 2007 Cup schedule Tuesday.
