Borland staying at Penske Racing

Matt Borland, Ryan Newman’s longtime crew chief, is staying at Penske Racing South for the 2007 season, team president Don Miller said Monday, although no title or job description has been finalized.

The three-day festival of speed and entertainment will feature the season-opening race in the Champ Car World Series, a Historic Grand Prix race, along with support racing events, boxing matches, concerts, expos and a celebrity poker tournament. 2007 Budweiser Shootout field set

There will be at least 21 drivers eligible for the 2007 Shootout on Saturday, Feb. 10 on FOX. The non-points NASCAR Nextel Cup event features the previous season’s pole winners and past Shootout champions.

Bank of America Corp. has signed a five-year deal as the official bank of NASCAR. The bank shared details of the agreement with The Associated Press before the public announcement Monday. The multiyear deal greatly expands Bank of America’s sponsorship of stock car racing, while also marking a change in how NASCAR lines up sponsors.
