Autoracing1.com is reporting that according to their NASCAR sources, Champ Car’s current hottest property, AJ Allmendinger, and his agent have decided to take the Toyota money and will drive in NASCAR starting next year for 3 to 5 years.

On October 22nd Jeff Gordon will co-host Wind Tunnel on Speed TV with Dave Despain at 9:00PM ET.

This weekend Lowe’s Monte Carlo driver Jimmie Johnson and Team 48 travel to Lowe’s Motor Speedway for Saturday night’s NASCAR Nextel Cup race. The race near Charlotte, N.C. marks the fifth of ten 2006 “Chase for the Championship” races. Johnson is 8th in the points, 156 behind leader Jeff Burton.
